Rising Against All Odds
“When a seed is planted on rocky ground and still grows, its roots are strong.”
Since opening its doors on 5th May 2022, Della Secondary School was established to bring education closer to the community and reduce the financial burden on parents caused by travel and related costs.
The school was founded in an arid and unforgiving region, where the sun scorches relentlessly, the winds are dry, and classrooms often face extreme heat with limited initial resources.
Like iron sharpened by fire, our learners were shaped by these challenges. Despite the harsh environment, unfriendly weather, and scarce resources, they rose with discipline, determination, and resilience, turning adversity into academic success.
In just two consecutive years 2024 and 2025 the school emerged as a leading institution in university transition, successfully sending a total of 390 students to universities.
Indeed, when the journey is tough, the destination is sweeter.
This remarkable achievement is attributed to the leadership and vision of the Area MP, Dr Adan keynan, whose efforts in establishing the school and addressing critical infrastructural gaps created the foundation for learning.
We also recognize the Eldas NG-CDF for supporting parents through annual bursaries.
Further appreciation goes to:
The hardworking Board of Management
Dedicated teachers who ensured effective curriculum delivery
Parents and the wider school community who supported learners wholeheartedly
Their combined contributions have helped make Dela Secondary School a beacon of academic excellence in the region.
As the proverb says, “A river cuts through rock not because of its power, but because of its persistence.”
Dela Secondary School stands today as living proof that excellence can flourish even in the harshest environments.
Thank you to all our stakeholders for believing, supporting, and walking this journey with us.
