KMTC wajir hands over affordable housing site...

KMTC Wajir Campus formally handed over the project site for the development of student hostels under the Government’s Affordable Housing Programme on 16th February 2026.

The ceremony, held at the KMTC Wajir Campus, was officiated by the County Executive Committee (CEC) Member for Lands, Wajir County, Mr. Ahmed Wardere.

The development will comprise a seven-storey residential complex, delivering a total of 580 modern accommodation units to enhance student housing capacity and support the institution’s expanding enrolment.

Speaking during the ceremony, the CEC Member for Lands, Mr. Ahmed Wardere reaffirmed the County Government’s commitment to facilitating and supporting the effective implementation of the project.

The project is expected to be completed within one year.

Mission accomplished.

This has been a demanding but productive week, conducting student assessments in the maternity unit at Mwingi Level 4 Hospital. Reducing maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality remains a central pillar of Universal Health Coverage.

To realize this objective, the development of a competent, skilled, and ethically grounded health workforce is essential. KMTC’s mission of developing fit-for-purpose middle-level health professionals through transformative training, research and consultancy is therefore critical in strengthening service delivery and ensuring high-quality care for mothers and newborns.

Throughout the assessment period, the students demonstrated commitment, improving clinical skills, and growing confidence in managing maternity cases. Their performance reflects the value of strong mentorship and the institution’s dedication to excellence in training.

We wish our students a safe journey back.

Rural Clinical Rotation Assessments Successfully Conducted for our students.

After completing their rural clinical rotations, our students underwent their assessments. The evaluations were professionally conducted by our lecturers, Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi and Mr. Abdifatah Issack.

Some of our students have successfully completed their rural assessments at Habaswein Referral Hospital, where they have been undertaking their rural attachments. The assessment was conducted by Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi, who also serves as the Dean of Students Affairs.

Meanwhile, other groups are continuing with their rural placements at, Madogo, Griftu, I.C.F, and Makaror dispensaries, Where their assessments are also being conducted.
