Unlike the past where a single national exam decided a child’s fate, CBC adopts a more holistic, learner-centered approach. Placement will be based on the following:
1. Continuous Assessment Records.
Learners are evaluated from Grade 7 through 9 through classroom assignments, projects, practicals, and assessments.
These performance records form a comprehensive learner profile that guides placement.
2. Learner’s Talents and Aptitudes.
CBC recognizes that intelligence is diverse. Whether your child excels in sciences, humanities, technical work, or the arts, their strengths will be a key consideration in placement.
3. Teacher Guidance.
Teachers, who interact with learners daily, provide informed recommendations based on consistent observation and progress tracking.
4. Parental and Learner Choice.
Parents and learners will participate in choosing preferred schools and pathways, based on career goals and individual interests.
5. Availability of Pathways in Senior Schools.
Learners will be placed into schools offering one of the three Senior School pathways:
STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics.
Social Sciences and Languages.
Arts and Sports Science.
