Health officers from Gatimu Health Center sensitized our staff and trainees on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), stress management, and mental health. The exercise also focused on creating awareness on the prevention, early detection, and management of common health conditions including cancer, high blood pressure, HIV, nutrition-related illnesses, and diabetes.

Screening services will continue tomorrow, Friday 29th May 2026, where individuals will visit designated rooms for basic tests and screenings including breast, cervical, and prostate cancer screening, TB testing (sputum for GeneXpert), Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment, blood pressure checks, HIV testing, and family planning services.

The screening exercise and other health services are free of charge.

Nyandarua National Polytechnic in collaboration with Nyandarua County Government carried out a tree planting exercise around the Polytechnic fence to promote environmental conservation and sustainability.

This marked Day Two of the 2026 Cultural Week celebrations at the Polytechnic, bringing together student leaders, Scouts, members of the Young Farmers Club, the Environmental Club, and the President’s Award-Kenya, who actively engaged in the activity as part of efforts to promote awareness on environmental conservation and climate action.

We appreciate the Department of Climate Change under the Nyandarua County Government for the provision of the trees planted today and for being part of this important initiative.

A team of trainers and trainees from Subukia TVC visited our Building and Civil Engineering Department for a benchmarking exercise aimed at promoting knowledge exchange and the sharing of best practices within the department.

During the visit, the team toured various workshops and training facilities within the department, gaining an interactive learning experience that exposed them to modern construction techniques, practical training methodologies, and innovative approaches that enhance competency-based education and training in engineering and construction skills development.
