Urgent Need
Kindly, see the above pictures and also share in your networks so that we can reconstruct four iron sheet rooms for this widow, Susan Mukoa in the informal settlement of Kibera.
Susan is one of our beneficiaries at HARC.
Her husband passed on some 4 years ago after a short illness. She now takes care of her family singlehandedly and it has been quite a big challenge for her even with the little support she has received from HARC.
The space she is standing in was once an old 4 room mud house where she lived and also rented out. It completely ran down because of age and no repairs due to inadequate resources. This was also a source of income for her with rental rooms going at about KShs 1000.
Right now she is facing a threat of losing the space if she does not reconstruct as soon as possible. Some people in the community have been eyeing the space and have visited the area chief so as to be allocated the space for own construction.
The chief has been very gracious. However, he now asks Susan to release the space if she is incapable of rebuilding.
She is very distraught because the little income she has been receiving from the rentals has been of great help to her family and now she is on the verge of losing the space.
We at HARC are calling on well-wishers to help us raise KShs 250,000 to construct the four iron sheet rooms for her and rescue her situation.
We require iron sheets, timber, poles, nails, cement, sand, and labour fees.
These may be in cash or kind and are all welcomed.
Together, let us make this widow smile again as her income improves.
