FAQ 7: Is ZanaAfrica only for girls?
No. ZanaAfrica works to improve the health, safety, and education of adolescents and young people more broadly. While many of our programs focus on girls’ experiences, particularly around menstrual health and puberty, we also work with boys, parents, teachers, and community members.
Engaging the wider community helps create supportive environments where all young people can access accurate information, challenge harmful norms, and make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

Strong partnerships are essential for creating sustainable impact. At ZanaAfrica, we recognize that advancing menstrual health, reproductive health education, and youth empowerment cannot be done in isolation. Working closely with county governments allows us to align with local priorities, strengthen existing systems, and ensure that programs reach adolescents and young people in ways that are relevant, accessible, and sustainable.
