DEPUTY PRINCIPAL DIES AFTER CHECKING INTO A HOTEL WITH A WOMAN
The deputy principal of St Cecilia Misikhu Girls Secondary School in Webuye Constituency was pronounced dead minutes after he collapsed in a hotel room after attending a school function.
Police have described the death of Caleb Wekesa Nakhisa as a suspected murder case.
According to the police report filed at Webuye Police Station under OB No. 02/24/05/2026 at 3am, Nakhisa was with a woman.
The police report states that the 28-year-old woman spent the evening of May 23, 2026 with the deputy principal at entertainment joints within Webuye town.
Police said the woman, accompanied by two employees of Satellite Hotel identified as Juliet Lusamoywa and Mildred Simiyu, told investigators that she met Nakhisa at SK Club at around 8pm, where they took drinks with friends before they proceeded to Thumbs Club.
The deputy principal and the woman reportedly left the entertainment joint at 11pm and checked into Satellite Hotel for the night.
“At around 12.20am on May 24, the deceased reportedly started feeling unwell. The woman informed the hotel management, who responded and found him foaming at the mouth inside the room,” reads part of the police report.
Hotel staff and the woman rushed Nakhisa to Calvary Hospital in Webuye before he was referred to Webuye Sub-County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 10 minutes after arrival.
Police officers from Matulo Police Post and detectives from the Sub-County Criminal Investigations Office (SCCIO) visited the scene and documented evidence.
Police said that the woman was placed in custody to assist detectives with investigations into the incident.

🚨 MOI GIRLS VOKOLI SENDING STUDENTS HOME OVER "BREAD MONEY" DISPITE FULL FEES CLEARANCE! 🚨

I am writing this as a frustrated parent at Moi Girls High School - Vokoli (Vihiga County). Today, our daughters were sent home yet again. The reason? Not school fees, but a mandatory Ksh. 4,000 per term for "bread money."

Here is why this is completely unfair:

1. Many of us parents have sacrificed to pay every single cent of the required school fees.

2. The school has so intertwined this "bread money" with standard fees that our daughters are routinely chased from school over it.

3. I have a son in campus and a daughter joining him this September, balancing higher education costs and putting food on the table is already a massive struggle. This extra levy is a burden we cannot bear.

The Government has clearly stated that no student should be sent home over extra-budgetary levies. Why is Moi Girls Vokoli ignoring this? Our children are losing valuable academic time over non-essentials!

I am calling on the MoE, the County Director of Education Vihiga, and all education stakeholders to look into this administration. Parents are suffocating!

Please share widely until this reaches the right offices. 🛑👇

The Moi Forces Senior School, a C1 public school, charges 15K per year for what they call academic support program. According to the school, the money is meant for :

1. Intensified student work supervision
2. Peer teaching and guided group discussions
3. Discovery programs
4. Special mathematics programs
5. Early bird programs
6. Parental involvement
7. Internal and external symposia & exposition
8. Discovery STRANDS
9. Remedial lessons
10. Speed tests and quizzes
11. ICT integration
12. School Based Assessment (KNEC)

Despite this long list of justifications, the school has not produced a Grade A in KCSE in recent times. Honestly, it is either the teachers are below average, the programs are just money-making schemes, or they are admitting “below average” students, which we know is unlikely to be the case.

At Moi Forces Academy, Grade 10 school fees increased from KSh 53K to KSh 107,000. The extra KSh 15,000 is reportedly paid to a separate PTA account.

What makes this more interesting is that in the 2025 KCSE results, not a single student scored a Grade A, despite the school admitting many extremely bright students with over 400 marks. So, what's the value of these extra levies?

To make matters worse, students who had fully paid the gazetted fee of KSh 53,000 are sent home over additional levies contrary to the law. In Kenya, a student should never be sent home for failure to pay extra levies, even where such levies may have received approval.
