The unstoppable dream

In the heart of Kirinyanga County, resided a focused known young man for his artistic wood-work passion. One day he asked himself questions, whether to challenge himself with a professional or hands-on course.Beind self-driven, he constructively opened his face-book account to abreast himself with the up to date news. Coincidentally, luck knocked his door with good news-The CITC –College, Nairobi Intake Adverts. Taking a prudent decision, Charles Darwin opted to evolve his skills in Carpentry and Joinery course.

When God’s time reached, he stepped into CITC compound for admission as a new student; he assessed the college wood-work unit and was so eager to learn. When he began his classes his commitment and discipline was exemplified. He undertook instructors’ guidance and practical training seriously. Utilizing his time properly to complement and supplement his class-work practicals, Darwin became a friend to Zablon one of the experienced production unit (wood-work unit) expert employees.

“Interestingly, CITC hallmark impressed him a lot. The liaison section under marketing department Employer Network impacts so many lives. Three weeks to his KNEC Examinations, Digital Factory CEO, came and bought him timber purposely for interview which he passed. Upon finishing his examinations, Darwin was taken as an attachee where he gained field experience for three months.CITC College, later linked him with Alex Bee Man in Kiambu, James’ Home Constructions and Wood Pekker organizations where he polished his skills on contractual basis doing turn and groove (TNG) work, installation of mahogany doors, fixing frames, fitting wardrobes and making furniture. Through learning from CITC Business Development Service and Workshop sessions, he founded Hojland Finewood Furniture and Interiors that earns him a living. “As youths we just need to be courageous enough to see through it, walk up to our it, stop over reliant and claim it-unstoppable dream,” said Charles Darwin.
