A historic moment for Starehe Boys’ Centre!
For the first time, a Starehe delegation of 38—35 students and 3 staff—has travelled to the United Kingdom for the Aspiring Scholars Conference, in partnership with Round Square and the Aumund Foundation.

Over the next week, they will spend time at Oxford and in London—learning, connecting, and experiencing new cultures. For many, this is their first time abroad, marking the beginning of a life-changing journey.

We are proud, grateful and excited for what lies ahead.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mi Vida Homes for partnering with Starehe Boys’ Centre & School on the refurbishment of Kibaki House and the enhancement of our main gate landscape.

This impactful project will transform Kibaki House into a modern boarding facility, complete with improved student beds, secure lockers, a furnished recreation room, and upgraded ablution facilities including modern bathrooms and toilets. The landscaping works will also elevate the look and feel of our main entrance, creating a more welcoming environment for all.

We are especially proud to see this initiative led by our alumnus, Mr. Sam Kariuki (Class of 1998), whose commitment to giving back reflects the enduring spirit of the Starehe Charge.

This partnership reinforces our shared commitment to providing a supportive, dignified, and high-quality living and learning environment for our students.

We are grateful to our two volunteer teaching assistants, Lucy Sinnamon and Jake Dieteren, who have completed their time with us since joining in January.

From sports, debate, and MUN to English and Chemistry classes, they brought energy, creativity, and dedication that left a lasting impact on our students and community.

Lucy joined us from Matthew Flinders Anglican College in Australia, and Jake from Aston University in the UK—both embodying a true spirit of service.

Thank you for your support of the Starehe mission, and we wish you all the best in your next chapter.

A proud moment for Starehe!

Our delegation is en route to Cape Town 🇿🇦 for the Regional Round Square Conference at St. George’s Grammar School

This is more than just a trip—it’s a life-changing experience. Our students will engage, connect, and grow through global dialogue, embodying Kurt Hahn’s powerful principle of experiential learning: learning by doing, service to others, and discovering beyond the classroom.

We’re excited for the ideas they’ll share, the networks they’ll build, and the leaders they’ll are becoming.

Our Debate Club delivered an outstanding performance at the 11th Mashujaa Championship Debate Competition. 🏆

Congratulations to all our debaters for representing Starehe with excellence and making the school proud. 💬👏
