Drawing on lived experience and community narratives, she uses poetry, film, journalism, and public engagement to challenge dominant narratives, celebrate cultural identity, and inspire collective action toward justice, liberation, and social transformation

PRIME SUSPECT: NAINENA

All Hail The Winner of the 1st preliminary of Poetry Slam Africa 2026 that took place this past Sunday at Braeburn Theatre Gitanga Rd.

Nainena edged out a pool of worthy opponents to take the crown and will be one of the 3 poets heading to the Grand Slam event slated for January 2027.

Fun Fact: Nainena is the reigning Rising Voices Schools' Slam Champion.
