The CAWI Preparatory Center :

a) supports entities implement Action Plans to demonstrate Strength and Effectiveness in five (5) key areas 1) Leadership: as the success of an entity relies on the effective management of its leader; 2) Decision Making & Structure: a governance structure provides a framework within which management decisions are made and ensures the entity is and remains fit for purpose; 3) People: Managers have the job of making complex tasks run smoothly, work out the implementation details, round up the required resources, and keep the employee energy channeled in the right direction; 4) Work Processes & Systems: ensure the governing body has the capacity to fulfil its own mandate and that there are policies in place to guarantee that management has the operational capacity for the organization as a whole; and 5) Culture: Organizational values influence organizational culture through the way people interact, the context within which knowledge is created, the resistance people will have towards certain changes and the way people share (or the way they do not share) knowledge.

b) helps to accelerate the professional growth of the Governance, Leadership and Management teams of entities, by investing in leadership and equipping teams through training. The modules solve the big dilemma the board and management have: i) I do know my Roles and Responsibilities, but I don’t know how exactly to execute them ii) What are the tools and instruments available to me to execute my responsibilities? ii)more importantly, When and How do I use these?

At CAWI Consulting, we offer Organisational Capacity Assessments to help entities achieve their strategic objectives for Growth, Scale and Impact.

Join our Training Program today and enroll in 9:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. in person or Virtual sessions or Evening & Weekend Sessions at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday -Friday plus Saturday 8:00 a.m. 10:00a.m. for 14 weeks, 6th May to 23rd August 2024.

CAWI Agency can help entities create effective operating models-fit for purpose-through an Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA) process of rigorous assessment and audit in the capacity areas of; i) Model, ii) Leadership, iii) Team, iv) Learning, v) Financial Management, vi) Fundraising and Connections on a standard by standard basis against Organizational Development Standards.

The activity is done through a two-day participatory process -ideally an activity/exercise-based, rather than a run-through of the checklist- that lead to analysis of the priorities for growth to help build a better understanding of its path to growth, rather than point out deficiencies.

The answers form a basis for further discussion with the entity leadership through follow up sessions culminating in a validation workshop to authenticate information that would be impossible to gather in any other way.

A Capacity Assessment report, -an output of the process- provides a brief summary of the capacity level in the key areas accompanied by the current situation and recommendations for growth. These results guide internal planning and targeted/tailored capacity support activities for the entity.
