What a year!

From our incredible gardeners, cleaners, maintenance team, 1:1 staff, office team, co-teachers, specialists and homeroom teachers, every single person has played a part in making Woodland Star such a special place.

Our end-of-year celebration was a chance to say thank you, celebrate together, and wish a fond farewell to those beginning new adventures.

The tribe dance off may not have settled which tribe has the best moves… but it definitely proved that our staff know how to work hard, laugh together, and build an amazing community.

Thank you for everything you’ve given our students this year. Here’s to a well-earned break!

As we closed out the school, we were delighted to celebrate our Mutunguru Moving Up Ceremony. 🎓✨

It was a wonderful occasion to recognise the hard work, perseverance, and growth of our students as they reached an important milestone as they move into our Secondary Years programme. Seeing their confidence, achievements, and excitement for what lies ahead made it a truly memorable celebration.

Congratulations to every student moving up, and thank you to our dedicated teachers, supportive families, and the entire Woodland Star community for making this year so special.

We wish all our students a restful holiday and look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting year of learning, growth, and discovery.

As we head towards the end of the school year, we’ve been reflecting on some of the moments that have made this year so special. One of the real highlights has been our Parent Socials, creating opportunities for our community to connect, laugh, and build friendships beyond the school day.

Our Jazz Evening was certainly one to remember. An evening of wonderful music, great conversations, and a fantastic atmosphere, it perfectly captured what makes the Woodland Star community so unique.

Opening night was pure magic. ✨

Our forest amphitheatre came alive with the final song, Circle of Lif. A beautiful ending to a wonderful first performance.

Physics in action — the Woodland Star way.

Built by students, tested by one very brave parent. This semester has meant welding, digging, concrete, and real problem-solving.

Next challenge: conquering the turns.

At Woodland Star, we use technology when it adds value to learning. It is never the focus but a tool that supports curiosity, creativity, and deeper thinking.

This photo captures that beautifully in Art class: the laptop is useful, but the real learning is in the ideas, expression, and creative process.

Today, our students had a fascinating assembly with Watamu Snake Farm, learning more about snakes, their role in the ecosystem, and why they are such an important part of the natural world.

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to ask questions, face fears, and build understanding through curiosity and courage.

A big thank you to Watamu Snake Farm for helping our students take a brave step into learning!
