Every major benchmark on the NSE — NASI, NSE 20, NSE 25, NSE 10 and the Banking Index — closed H1 2026 in double digits. Market capitalization pushed to a fresh all-time high in the days that followed.

Half-year performances like this don't happen often. The question worth asking isn't whether it was a good six months — it clearly was — but what tends to happen after a run this strong, and how that should shape decisions for the second half of the year.

Join John Collins, Senior Analyst at Faida Investment Bank, in partnership with CDSC, as he unpacks what this milestone actually means for investors going into H2.

Kenyan investors got over KShs. 800 billion richer in the first half of 2026.

That's how much the NSE added in market value between January and June — and June alone accounted for over 350 billion of it, the biggest single month in at least 18 years.

We'll break down where that money actually came from, and what it means for your own portfolio.

H1 2026 was one of the NSE's strongest half-year performances in years.

It is therefore easy to assume every counter shared in that growth, but that wasn't the case.

Banks and other select counters carried much of the market's gains. Meanwhile, other companies, closed the half deep in negative territory.

For investors, the more useful question isn't just "was the market up" but which sectors actually drove that growth, and what the divide means for how you position in H2.

We'll be unpacking exactly that on Thursday, 30 July 2026 from 7:00 pm.

The first half of 2026 has been one of the strongest six-month stretches the Nairobi Securities Exchange has seen in years.

The NASI and NSE 20 both grew by 19.6%, while the Banking Index outpaced them at 24.8%

For investors, the more useful question isn't just "how much did the market grow" but why we experienced that impressive growth, and whether the same conditions carry into H2.

We'll be unpacking exactly that on Thursday, 30 July 2026 from 7:00 pm.
