excited to share her latest publication on School Career Guidance and Career Choice Satisfaction among Undergraduate Students in Selected Universities in Nairobi County, Kenya. This is very relevant to the new Competence-Based Education (CBE) system in Kenya that aims to identify and nurture the individual learners' potential through specific pathways (STEM, Arts & Sports, Social Sciences).

This study revealed that a high percentage of university students are not satisfied with their career choices.

This has led to a high rate of college dropouts and many are experiencing career confusion! This is a wake-up call to the government and all the stakeholders involved to design well-structured professional career counselling programs in our learning institutions at each level in order to sensitize everyone and clear the mess.

On this International Men’s Day 19 Nov 2025, themed “Celebrating Men and Boys”, we celebrate the men who inspire, lead, and uplift those around them. Their strength, resilience, and guidance shape families, communities, and workplaces.

As we observe Global Careers Month, we are reminded that meaningful careers are not just jobs they are pathways to purpose, growth, and impact.
At CDAK, we champion men’s holistic development, helping them thrive personally, professionally, and socially.

Today, we acknowledge the mentors, leaders, and everyday heroes who empower others and commit to building opportunities that unlock potential for all.

CDAK Mazingira Day 2025

Theme: Citizen-Centric Tree Growing and Environmental Stewardship

Mazingira Day 2025 reminds us that caring for the planet and nurturing careers share a common purpose: growth, resilience, and legacy.
As career development practitioners, we recognize that just as trees need the right conditions to flourish, individuals need guidance, mentorship, and opportunity to thrive in their careers. Tree planting builds vital skills teamwork, leadership, and sustainability awareness that prepare citizens for Kenya’s growing green economy.

By promoting environmental stewardship, we not only restore ecosystems but also inspire purpose-driven careers that sustain both people and the planet.
“When we plant trees, we invest in the planet’s tomorrow; when we nurture careers, we invest in humanity’s future.”

_Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession_

We honour the collective spirit that drives transformation in education and career guidance.

Today’s teacher is not just an instructor, but a collaborator working alongside peers, communities, and industries to prepare learners for a dynamic world of work.
As Career Development Practitioners, we echo this call for collaboration. Our role extends beyond the classroom; we guide, mentor, and connect learners to opportunities that align with their passions and the evolving labor market needs.

Together, we are building ecosystems where teachers thrive, learners are empowered, and the future of work becomes inclusive and purpose-driven.

Happy Teachers’ Day
