It is not beyond our power to create a world in which all children have access to a good education. ~ Nelson Mandela in a recorded message for the launch of the Nelson Mandela Institute for Education & Rural Development, November 2007

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by today's devastating fire at Kariobangi Light Industries, just metres from our school. We're thankful no lives were lost, but many businesses — including those of at least two Hands of Love parents — have been destroyed.

Today, our Grade 1 children did something extraordinary. They sat down in front of a screen and waved hello to students at Ledina Elementary School in Ljubljana, Slovenia — thousands of miles away!
For many of our little ones, it was their very first time connecting with children from another country. And watching them realise that the world is full of friends they haven't met yet?
A huge thank you to Emina and the wonderful team at Ledina Elementary for making this happen. You've opened a window to the world for our children — and we couldn't be more grateful.
This is what education looks like at its best — not just books and classrooms, but hearts and minds expanding beyond borders.

We are so proud to share that Hands of Love Educational Centre recently hosted a 5-day Mosaic Teacher Training Course — and it was truly something special. 💛
In partnership with Mosaic and Slum Child Onlus, we brought together more than 40 teachers from across Nairobi for five days of hands-on learning, collaboration, and professional growth.
Teachers dove deep into practical skills that make a real difference in the classroom — from how to give clear instructions and plan effective lessons, to understanding teacher roles, scaffolding learning, and using group work to unlock every child's potential. They also got to explore exciting digital tools like Wordwall, Khan Academy, Ed.ted, and even how to use AI responsibly to support their teaching. 🖥️📚
It was five days of energy, curiosity, and teachers who genuinely care about the children in their classrooms. Watching educators from so many different schools come together — sharing ideas, asking questions, and growing together — reminded us of why this work matters so much.
A huge thank you to Mosaic and Slum Child Onlus for making this possible. Your investment in teachers is an investment in thousands of children across our city. 🙏
When teachers grow, children flourish. And that's exactly what Nairobi needs more of.

At Hands of Love Educational Centre, we have always believed that education is about more than passing exams. It's about nurturing children — their hearts, their hands, and their minds. That belief is exactly what drew us to the Waldorf approach, and over the past two and a half years, it has quietly begun to transform how we teach.
This is the story of that journey.

We're beyond thrilled to welcome back our students for the 2026 school year!
Our doors reopened last week and we are incredibly grateful that every child we were expecting has returned safe and sound, ready to crush their learning goals.
Our current enrolment includes 50 Pre Primary 1 students, 50 Pre Primary 2 students, and 30 Grade 1 students.
A huge thank you to our parents, staff, and supporters. Your commitment and support make this possible!
Let's work together to make 2026 a year to remember! 🙏
