Finalization on Electives . . .

Good evening my good neighbors on IDIS Street,

After a rigorous deliberation and consultation on the University Calendar of Units, it was concluded that the only 2 electives that we have to choose from are: International Political System and International Conflict Management. These are the only 2 units under our programme.

Foreign Policy Analysis and Gender in IR are not under our programme. And we have been advised that doing either of them as an elective is dangerous and might prevent students that choose them from graduating.

Borrowing electives from other programmes is complicated and we have been advised to avoid so. So ICM preferred students are free to do it. Attached is a page of the units under our programme for confirmation.

Accept the assurances of my highest regards,

Prof Chambers Umezulike

Good morning our good neighbors on IDIS Street,

Our 'attention' has been drawn to the fact that Prof has asked for the names of students wishing to do another elective instead of Dr Maluki's 'International Political System.' She needs the names to make decision on granting us this.

Dr Maluki's 'International Political System' is on Thursdays in the evening, at ED 209.
Other electives we can choose from with his are:

- 'Foreign Policy Analysis', by Dr Anita on Fridays in the evening at IDIS hostel ground floor.

- 'Gender in IR', by Prof Nzomo on Saturdays (11:00 - 14:00) at IDIS Hostel Conference Room.

- 'International Conflict Management', by Dr Nzau on Saturdays (11:00 - 14:00) at IDIS Hostel Ground Floor.

If you are interested in doing either of them instead of Dr Maluki's Unit, please send your name and registration number to Ann via WhatsApp indicating the unit or SMS Chambers. These lists will be submitted tomorrow morning.

Fortunately, none of these electives is clashing with the established timetables. It will be better that you attend classes for your intended elective this week as these classes have commenced.

Hopefully, she will just grant us these units once she sees the names. Semester is moving fast and we have to get concluded with this. She hasn't said anything on 'Diplomacy' so its still on Saturday mornings (08:00 - 11:00) at BLT Chiromo.

Accept the assurances of our highest regards,

Chambers and Ann

's Class won't hold . . .

Good morning everyone,

Today's Dr. Ouma's class has been cancelled and shifted to Tuesday at the Conference Room. This was because of venue issue (CHSS Board Room cannot contain us, so we looked for an alternate solution). Please communicate this to everyone you can.
We will have Dr. Ouma on next week Tuesday.
So sorry for the inconveniences.

We will meet tomorrow for Dr. Maluki's 'International Political System' at ED 209. And Mr Nguru's 'Diplomacy' will be on Saturday, by 08:00 at BLT, Chiromo. Efforts are being made to shift Mr Nguru's class to Monday, if Ikiara could shift his to Friday. We are engaged on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday week days. Nguru is engaged on Wednesday and Friday. And shifting the time from 08:00 am to 11:00 might be tricky as the venue might have been booked by 11:00 by another class.

My Kind Regards,
Chambers Umezulike

Hi colleagues,

1. For students' ID renewal, pay Kshs. 500/- to the Barclays fee account then go to the students portal and click on renew ID and follow the steps. From there keep checking the status of your ID and once it shows "PRINTED" then go and collect it at IDIS room 10.

2 . We are resuming classes on 7th September, 2015

Hi Guys,

For those that would be offering "Diplomatic Methods and Practice," which would hold tomorrow in the evening by Mr. Nguru, I have been able to achieve a success with the Registrar and had her re-schedule the venue to Queensway Room 602, from SLT Chiromo Campus that raised concerns in a lot of us.

So, no more Chiromo, but Queensway Room 602. This I understand is better and in town, for easier access to the bus stage at night.

Further correspondences about this class would be handled by Prof (Solomon), as I would not be taking the course. But the lecturer would be there at Queensway tomorrow evening.

Please tell others doing the course.

+Blessed be,
Chambers Umezulike
