Moments of celebration, leadership, and community at Hekima University College.
We recently marked two significant occasions in our academic calendar; the Closing Ceremony for Academic Year 2025/26 and the HUCSA Student Council Inauguration for 2026/2027.
As we celebrated the achievements, growth, and milestones of the year, we also welcomed a new chapter of student leadership committed to service, vision, and community building.
These moments reflect the vibrant spirit of Hekima; one rooted in excellence, leadership, and shared purpose.
Here’s to continued growth, meaningful leadership, and an even brighter future ahead.

Speaking at the launch of the book African Synodal Theology: A Tall Tree is as Strong as its Roots, held at Hekima University College on 18th March, 2026, Bishop Rodrigo MejĂa Saldarriaga, SJ, offered a candid and spontaneous reflection on the state of synodality in Africa, warning that it risks becoming a mere “event” rather than a transformative practice.
Bishop Rodrigo, the Vicar Apostolic Emeritus of Soddo, Ethiopia, and a founding member of Hekima University College, drew a sharp distinction between the success of African celebrations and the necessity of structural change in the church.
