In our Kenyan homes, churches, and workplaces, let us treat people living with HIV with dignity, not discrimination.

This World AIDS Day, we honour the strength of our communities, especially the women, girls, and survivors who continue to fight for safety, dignity, and health.

Across Kenya, CBOs are on the frontlines of HIV prevention:
raising awareness, strengthening community education, reaching vulnerable groups, and ensuring no one is left behind. Their work is a lifeline.

But the fight against HIV/AIDS is also a fight against sexual and gender-based violence.

Delayed access to healthcare after sexual violence increases the risk of HIV infection.
Survivors need urgent medical care—within 72 hours—to access PEP, manage injuries, prevent other infections, and receive trauma support.

When survivors cannot reach a health facility in time, the consequences can last a lifetime.

She’s a mother. A worker. A friend.
But online, someone reduces her to targets and threats.

Digital violence doesn’t stop at the screen, it follows her into her thoughts,
shakes her mental peace,
and steals the dignity she has built over years.

Her story is one of thousands.
This harm is real, deep, and urgent.

Today marks the global start of the 16 Days of Activism. The Radishare CBO Network unites across 18 counties to raise awareness on the rising threat of digital violence against women and girls - from cyberbullying to online exploitation.
