Strengthening Partnerships for a Stronger Alumni Community

The Amref International University Alumni Association (AMIUAA) leadership had the privilege of meeting with the Amref Health Africa Group CEO, Dr Githinji Gitahi, for a productive courtesy engagement focused on advancing opportunities for both students and alumni.

The discussions centred on key strategic priorities, including:
🎓 Enhancing graduate employability and career readiness.
💡 Expanding financial aid opportunities with the goal of increasing scholarship coverage to 30% of the student population.
📊 Developing a sustainable and transparent means-testing framework for financial aid allocation.
🤝 Strengthening alumni engagement and creating meaningful opportunities for alumni to contribute to the University's growth and development.
🏢 Expanding partnerships with corporate and development organisations to increase internship and experiential learning opportunities for students.
Dr Gitahi reaffirmed his unwavering support for the AMIU Alumni Association, noting that this engagement marks the beginning of many more collaborative conversations aimed at strengthening the AMIU community.
We sincerely appreciate his commitment and look forward to working together to create lasting impact for our students, alumni, and the broader Amref family.

The 7th Amref International University (AMIU) Graduation Ceremony successfully took place on Friday, 10th July 2026, at the Northlands Campus under the powerful theme: "Raising leaders for Africa's health transformation." 🚀
During the event, the President of the Alumni Association, Dr. Cliffland Mosoti, warmly welcomed the graduates into the corporate world. He urged the entire cohort to join the Alumni Association and step forward as excellent ambassadors dedicated to transforming healthcare across the continent. 🏥✨
