Ruto has been cornered for two weeks. He has been doing his best to protect his political career (this one is done and dusted, he should be preparing his retirement package right now, to avoid the same case Uhuru is facing from the current government of an unpaid reitirement package two years later). Regardless of what he is doing to show the nation that he listens, Ruto will never fire any of his cabinet secretaries which is one of the peoples demands. Some of them like Murkomen, Alice Wahome and Duale won elective posts in 2022 as senators and mps. How do you fire someone, yet you appointed them after they had just won a general election and they had to drop their elected seats to serve in your cabinet. Today the political class sat together for the signing of the IEBC bill. Ruto, Kalonzo or Raila are the same old politicians that we need to do away with. They have never discussed the death penalty for corrupt public officials which is what we need like Wajackoya used to say. To this day I still ask why did people never vote for Wajackoya who had proposed a bill to hang any public official. Or is it because he wanted to legalize ma*****na ( a naturally growing plant that is now legal in key Western countries). Kenya needs a Wajackoya like leader and not a soft Wamtata who does not provide ways of handling our debt and economic crisis. Right now Isiolo would be Kenyas capital, there would be no congestion in Nairobi. Lets bring back the professor. Wajackoya, that is.

Raising pigs can be a rewarding venture, whether you're doing it for personal consumption or as a business. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to raise pigs:

1. Planning and Research:
• Before you start, do thorough research on pig farming. Understand the costs involved, potential profits, and relevant regulations in Kenya.
2. Selecting the Right Pig Breed:
• Choose a pig breed that suits your goals and the Kenyan climate. Common choices include Yorkshire, Hampshire, Duroc, and Landrace.
3. Housing and Fencing:
• Build a sturdy and secure pig pen or housing. Pigs need protection from the elements and predators. Make sure the pen provides shelter from sun, wind, and rain.
• Fencing should be strong enough to contain the pigs. Hog panels or woven wire fencing are commonly used.
4. Feeding and Nutrition:
• Pigs require a balanced diet. Consult a veterinarian or agricultural expert in Kenya for advice on appropriate feed for your pigs.
• Commercial pig feed is available and is typically formulated to meet their nutritional needs.
5. Water Supply:
• Provide a constant supply of clean, fresh water. Pigs can drink a lot, especially in hot weather.
6. Healthcare:
• Establish a relationship with a veterinarian experienced with pigs.
• Ensure regular vaccinations and deworming to prevent diseases.
• Monitor pigs for any signs of illness and act promptly if you notice any health issues.
7. Cleanliness and Waste Management:
• Keep the pig housing clean to prevent the spread of disease.
• Implement a waste management system for manure disposal, which can be used as fertilizer.
8. Exercise and Enrichment:
• Pigs need space to move around and engage in natural behaviours. Providing toys or rooting materials can help prevent boredom.
9. Breeding and Reproduction (if applicable):
• If you plan to breed pigs, research the breeding process and be prepared to care for piglets.
10. Market and Sale:
• Decide when to sell your pigs. This depends on your goals. Some people raise pigs for meat, while others may want to sell breeding stock.
11. Record Keeping:
• Maintain detailed records of expenses, vaccinations, feed consumption, and any health issues. Good record keeping will help you manage your operation efficiently.
12. Continuous Learning:
• Stay updated on the latest developments in pig farming through websites, and agricultural workshops.
13. Marketing and Sales:
• If you're raising pigs for meat, have a marketing plan in place. Consider local markets, restaurants, or selling directly to consumers.
14. Scaling Up (if desired):
• If you're successful and wish to expand your operation, carefully plan for growth and invest in additional infrastructure and resources.

Remember that raising pigs in Kenya requires dedication, time, and resources. It's essential to be prepared and committed to the well-being of your animals.

Improving milk production in dairy cattle involves various management practices, nutrition, and animal health considerations. At Jimlet Feeds we are committed to helping your animals achieve the best level of production they can achieve. Here are several strategies to enhance milk production:
1. Quality Nutrition:
• Provide a balanced and nutritious diet for dairy cows. Work with a nutritionist to formulate rations that meet the specific needs of your cows in different stages of lactation.
• Ensure a consistent and adequate supply of high-quality forage, such as alfalfa or grass hay, and concentrate feeds like grains or protein supplements.
• Monitor feed intake and adjust rations as needed to maintain ideal body condition and energy balance.
2. Adequate Water Supply:
• Ensure cows have constant access to clean and fresh water, as water is a crucial component of milk production.
3. Proper Health Care:
• Implement a proactive herd health program that includes regular vaccinations, deworming, and prevention of diseases like mastitis.
• Work with a veterinarian to monitor cow health and address any health issues promptly.
4. Optimal Housing and Comfort:
• Provide comfortable and clean housing with good ventilation. Comfortable cows are more likely to produce more milk.
• Use appropriate bedding materials, such as sand, straw, or rubber mats, to reduce stress on cows' joints and prevent injuries.
5. Milking Management:
• Implement proper milking practices, including maintaining clean and sanitized milking equipment and minimizing stress during the milking process.
• Follow consistent milking routines and schedules.
6. Breeding and Genetics:
• Select dairy cow breeds and genetics that are known for higher milk production.
• Use artificial insemination or selective breeding programs to improve the genetics of your herd.
7. Record Keeping and Data Analysis:
• Keep detailed records of milk production, health, and reproduction.
• Analyze data to identify patterns or issues that may be affecting milk production, and make informed decisions based on the data.
8. Optimize Reproductive Management:
• Maintain a good reproductive program to ensure cows calve at the right intervals, allowing for maximum milk production.
9. Minimize Stress:
• Minimize stress factors that can negatively impact milk production, such as overcrowding, transportation, and abrupt changes in routine.
10. Continuous Education:
• Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in dairy cattle management by attending workshops, seminars, and consulting with experts.
11. Invest in Technology:
• Consider incorporating modern technologies such as automated feeding systems, milking robots, and monitoring devices to improve management efficiency and cow comfort.
Improving milk production is an ongoing process that requires a combination of proper nutrition, health care, and management practices tailored to the specific needs of your dairy herd. Consulting with experts in dairy management and nutrition can be highly beneficial in implementing these strategies effectively.

Boosting egg production in chickens requires careful management of their environment, nutrition, health, and overall well-being. Here are some tips to help increase egg production:
1. Provide Proper Nutrition:
• Feed your chickens a balanced diet that includes a commercial layer feed rich in protein (16-18%), calcium (3.5-4%), and other essential nutrients. Avoid feeding them excess treats that might disrupt their nutritional balance.
• Ensure a steady supply of clean, fresh water at all times.
2. Optimal Lighting:
• Chickens require around 14-16 hours of light per day to stimulate egg production. You can use artificial lighting to supplement natural daylight during darker months to maintain the required light duration.
3. Comfortable Housing:
• Provide a clean, well-ventilated, and predator-proof coop for your chickens. Comfortable and stress-free chickens are more likely to lay eggs consistently.
• Ensure proper nesting boxes are available where hens can lay eggs in a calm and private environment.
4. Nest Boxes:
• Properly designed nesting boxes encourage hens to lay eggs in a clean and secure area. Each box should be filled with soft nesting material like straw or shavings.
5. Healthcare:
• Regularly inspect your chickens for signs of illness or parasites. Healthy chickens are more likely to lay eggs regularly.
• Consult with a veterinarian for regular vaccinations and healthcare advice.
6. Reduce Stress:
• Minimize noise, disturbance, and sudden changes in the environment. Chickens can be sensitive to stress, which can affect their egg-laying patterns.
7. Proper Egg Collection:
• Collect eggs at least once a day to prevent them from being pecked or soiled. This also helps prevent broodiness.
8. Manage Broodiness:
• Broody hens stop laying eggs. If a hen becomes broody (sits on eggs to hatch them), you may need to take measures to break the broodiness, such as gently moving her from the nesting box and providing cooling materials like frozen water bottles.
9. Supplemental Calcium:
• Offer crushed oyster shells or other calcium supplements separately from the layer feed. Calcium is vital for strong eggshells.
10. Selective Breeding:
• If you have a breeding program, select birds that are known for high egg production traits.
11. Regular Egg Collection:
• Collect eggs frequently to prevent hens from becoming 'egg eaters', where they might break and eat their eggs.
12. Rotate the Flock:
• Introduce new hens to the flock periodically to maintain egg-laying vigor.
Remember that egg production is influenced by the breed, age of the hens, seasonal changes, and genetics. While these tips can improve egg production, it's essential to be patient and realistic about the natural variations in egg-laying rates.
