Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people's thinking.
I will be conducting a live meeting on zoom concerning freelance writing you can request me the details of the meeting via WhatsApp number 0740678553
Do you want to turn your writing talent into recurring income?
Hehe...back in the days I'd have laughed at you if you'd told me that I'd one day earn as a writer. Or that I'd use my writing skill to help, mentor, and sell to thousands of people.
Someone told me I was a great writer, but for a while, I didn't think this could be converted into a regular, dependable, sweet income.
Someone told me to start a blog but I delayed for more than a year since I thought I couldn't stand a chance.
Someone told me to start a Facebook group. Looked like too much work for free. But here we are, with groups getting tens of thousands of members! ATK has over 100k members!
Years later, I'm glad I started.
You don't have to be super-qualified to get started as a freelance writer.
In fact, the most basic things you need are:
1. Good basic grammar and writing skills. If you clearly struggle with grammar, please take free grammar courses online before joining any writing course.
2. Access to a computer and internet. This can be your own computer or a friend's, a cyber, a library, a relative's, etc. You just need some access for a few hours daily.
3. Basic training: This can be FREE info such as what I give over at my blog FreelancerKenya. Follow what it says and you can go far. Alternatively, you can join a paid course by any reputable trainer. Remember, it's the action that counts.
4. Dedication and guts: I'm so busy right now working for a high-profile client. It took guts to apply for this job. Took lots of dedication to even understand what he wants. Years later, we're both happy with the project. In fact, he praised me in front of his team the other day!
5. A source of jobs: Lots of jobs out there, my friend, from places like Upwork, Fiverr, cold-pitching, blogging, LinkedIn, Reddit, international FB groups, networking, etc.
Don't procrastinate. You have what it takes. Start now!
"Although I'm new to Upwork (or wherever else), I'm a fast learner and will still give you pure gold."
NEVER USE THAT! Most clients don't care whether you're new or old. What they care the most about is whether you can deliver the work or not.
Let's analyze that INEFFECTIVE statement:
"New to Upwork"??!? So what?
Hehehehe... When old in Upwork will you say "Hey, I'm old in Upwork, but not rusty..." 😂😂
Inconsequential.
They want someone who CAN write good copy already. In short, you're hired when you convince them you'll deliver pure gold. Not out of sympathy. Not because they want to "help boost this new guy's profile".
"Fast learner"??!? Oh my!
Are you looking for a client or a trainer? Clients do not really want to TRAIN you how to write good copy.
You may ask, "But they will show me how to work their style. And maybe point out stuff in my first pieces of content. Right?"
Yes, they may point out things you may need to improve. But only if it's just 5% of the copy. Ok, maybe 10%.
Listen to this:
If your copy is 90% bad, you're out. If you're CONSTANTLY sending copy with mistakes, you're out. If you're not spending your own time to IMPROVE, you'll soon be replaced by a new guy. Out.
Get this right:
A client is NOT a trainer. I repeat. They're not there to train you. You'll need to train yourself or invest in a trainer. Constantly. Welcome to the world of constant learning...(no two ways around that).
OK. Let's go to the last part of that bad statement:
"still give you pure gold" ??!? Hehe...
WHAT is pure gold?
Has someone ever told you something like this:
"Go to Restaurant X. They have the best beef."
Then you RUSH to Restaurant X and get the WORST BEEF EVER. Did your friend lie to you? No. To THEM, Restaurant X provides the best beef. That's pure gold for them.
But since you're used to Intercontinental, Hilton, Norfolk, Windsor etc, Restaurant X is just NOT for you. Their beef is total hogwash.
Let's check out another scenario:

LESSONS FROM MY SURGERY IN 2019
Waking up on Thursday (31st Jan 2019), I had no idea that on the same day, I'd rush to the emergency room and get operated on.
I had no idea that I'd feel one of the worst pains of my life.
This excruciating experience left me with some deep life lessons that I just had to share with you.
THIS PAIN WAS JUST NOT GOING AWAY
Some say that this pain is comparable to or even worse than childbirth
A few minutes after waking up, I felt one of the worst pains ever. It was a sudden, severe, sharp pain on the lower right side of my stomach.
I thought it would disappear after a few minutes. I was wrong. It would only get worse!
I got in touch with a few close friends and we prayed and prayed and prayed.
I then took some pain meds to help cool it down.
It went down a bit.
But...
My body suddenly gave me a feeling that the pain would get to unimaginable levels.
So, I dashed to the hospital when I still could.
THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND THE MULTIPLE TESTS
As expected, the pain got to the most intense, severe, and critical levels just before I got to the emergency room.
I just remember saying "God! Jesus! God! Jesus!" like a million times while almost pulling my hair out.
I was put on some drips that included pain meds. Some relief at last. Most of the pain went away. Oh, my! Wasn't I happy?
Multiple tests were conducted including blood, urine, an ultrasound scan, and a CT scan.
THE DIAGNOSIS AND SURGERY
Renal stone, it was.
From the scans, I was shown a kidney stone that was lodged in my right ureter (the pipe that goes from the kidney to the bladder).
After being given and weighing different treatment options, I went for laser surgery. For those who know these medical terms, the following were done: ureteroscopy, laser lithotripsy, cystoscopy, and stenting.
These were non-invasive procedures (little to no cutting done) where the docs use pipes and a tiny camera to go in, remove the stone and then put some tube (stent) on the

WHAT TO DO WHEN EVERYTHING GOES WRONG IN YOUR LIFE
I don't know what's up but it seems like many people are going through a rough time. I therefore thought of posting an update to encourage everyone who is struggling right now.
Here's WHAT TO DO when EVERYTHING IS GOING WRONG!!!!:
1. BLAME YOURSELF THE RIGHT WAY
Not in a bad way, but somehow when things are bad we blame everyone but ourselves. Yes, make sure you take your responsibility in what's wrong and go to point number 2.
2. FIND YOUR SINGLE POINT OF FAILURE (SPOF).
What is it the worst thing that affects your life or business? Yes, you know it. That sin. That man. That woman. That website. That compromise. Think about it and create measures to deal with it before a crisis occurs.
3. TALK TO SOMEONE ENCOURAGING
When going through stuff, it's best to talk to positive people. People who will encourage you and make you feel good. Hanging around negative people simply compounds the problem.
4. TALK TO THOSE WHO HAVE OVERCOME
Whatever it is, there is someone who has gone through worse and overcome. Talk to them and learn how they did it.
5. TAKE ACTION
Lack of action is worse than ignorance. If you don't DO IT you cannot ACHIEVE IT - and you will remain even more STRESSED and UNPRODUCTIVE.
Whatever course of action you choose to follow, take decisive action on it.
6. ACCEPT WHAT'S NOT IN YOUR CONTROL
You can't control the weather, right? If it's too cold you can choose to complain about the cold or simply wear something warm and eat/drink lots of warm stuff.
This is the same in other areas of life. If you can't change it, accept it and find a way to work around it. Make sure you keep God first in everything and always pray before taking any action.
What do you do when it all goes wrong?
