There are moments in life when the heart feels lost… when the road ahead is unclear, and the noise of this world becomes louder than the whisper of truth. In those moments, we turn to You, O Allah—the One who never misguides, the One who never abandons.
Ya Allah, Guide us to the Straight Path—the path of those whom You have favored, not the path of those who earned Your anger nor those who went astray. Illuminate our hearts with Your light, and remove from us every darkness that distances us from You.
O Allah, we ask You for guidance that is firm and unwavering. Not guidance that fades with hardship, not guidance that weakens with temptation—but guidance that stays rooted in our hearts through every trial, every ease, every moment of our lives.
Ya Rabb, purify our intentions. Let everything we do be solely for Your sake. Protect us from showing off, from seeking praise, from losing sincerity in our actions. Make our hearts alive with remembrance of You.
O Allah, when we are confused, guide us. When we are weak, strengthen us. When we fall into sin, bring us back to You with sincere repentance. Do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us.
Ya Allah, make the Qur’an the light of our hearts, the comfort of our souls, and the guide in our lives. Let it shape our character, our speech, and our actions. Make us among those who not only recite it but live by it.
O Turner of hearts, keep our hearts firm upon Your religion. Do not let this world deceive us. Do not let our desires overpower us. Do not let Shaytan mislead us.
Ya Allah, guide our families, our parents, our children, and our loved ones. Unite us all upon truth and righteousness. Make our homes places of peace, remembrance, and obedience to You.
O Allah, grant us the ability to recognize truth as truth and follow it, and to recognize falsehood as falsehood and stay away from it. Do not make us among those who see but do not understand, who hear but do not act.
Ya Allah, bless our journey towards You. Make every step we take a step closer to Your pleasure. And when our time in this world comes to an end, let us return to You while You are pleased with us.
Ameen.

WHAT IS ZAQQUM?

“Indeed, the tree of Zaqqum will be the food of the sinful. Like boiling oil, it will boil in their bellies…” — (Surah Ad-Dukhan)
There is a tree—not in this world, but in the depths of Hell. Not a tree of shade or comfort, but a tree of punishment. Its name is Zaqqum. A tree that grows from the very core of the Fire, fed by flames, nourished by torment. And yet, the people of Hell will eat from it—not because they want to, but because they have no choice. Allah describes its fruits as resembling the heads of devils—terrifying, ugly, beyond imagination. But the horror is not just in how it looks; it’s in what it does. The moment it is eaten, it does not satisfy hunger or bring relief. It burns, it tears through the insides, it boils in the stomach like molten metal. It becomes a punishment inside the body, not just outside.
But how does a person reach a point where this becomes their food? It doesn’t happen suddenly. It begins with small steps: a sin ignored, a reminder postponed, a heart slowly becoming comfortable with disobedience—until what once felt heavy becomes normal, what once caused fear becomes a joke, and the heart no longer trembles at the thought of Allah.
Zaqqum is not just a description of punishment; it is a warning. A warning that actions have consequences, that choices matter, that the life we are living now is planting something—either trees of Jannah or trees of Hell.
Yet the mercy of Allah is greater. You are still here, still breathing, still able to turn back. The same Lord who warned you about Zaqqum has opened the door of tawbah. No matter how far you have gone, no matter how many times you have fallen, you can still return.
So ask yourself: what am I planting today? Because one day, you will eat from what you grew.
