There is an ongoing debate in the SPLM Party House, where some people are telling the SPLM Party leadership that the Palm Africa Group lacks legitimacy among SPLM-IO members and armed groups. The dialogue committee will include SPLM-IO members under Dr. Riek Machar to participate in the peace dialogue and election procedures. Things are smelling in the horns. You cannot leave out the signatories to the agreement and choose mere members to act on their behalf.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit must urgently intervene to rescue the people of Lakes State from the current administration. Governor Rin Tueny Mabor has lost direction, and his leadership no longer reflects the needs and priorities of the citizens. The people of Lakes State deserve a governor who can genuinely address their concerns, restore accountability, and improve service delivery.

For a long time, we have wished for Lt. Gen. Rin Tueny to be promoted to the national government so that a new, competent leader can be appointed to guide Lakes State. Public resources are being collected without any meaningful returns or compensation to the taxpayers. This situation has created frustration and undermined the trust of the people in their state government.

It is time for a leadership change—one that prioritizes health, security, development, and the wellbeing of the people of Lakes State.

Hon. Juol Nhomngek will be reinstated once Dr. Riek Machar is officially confirmed to be free from unlawful detention and all pending court cases.
