🏆 A Dual Win for Murang’a University of Technology at the StartUp Africa Olympiad – Kabarak University

We are proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement by our student innovators:

🥇 1st Position (KES 75,000) – MaternaGuard™, an innovative maternal health solution designed to support early detection of postpartum bleeding and improve maternal safety.

🥉 3rd Position (KES 25,000) – TinniSync™, a wearable health-tech innovation that helps individuals manage somatic tinnitus through posture monitoring and haptic feedback.

This remarkable success demonstrates the power of innovation, mentorship, and entrepreneurship at MUT. Our students continue to identify real-world challenges and develop practical, locally relevant solutions with the potential to create meaningful impact.

At the STRI4Society Week 2026 held at the KICC, Murang'a University of Technology showcased a bold vision for the future through innovative solutions designed to solve real African challenges.

From the headline kind of MUT001 Electric Vehicle 🚗 to smart healthcare, AI-driven business tools, precision farming, intelligent automation, and greener construction approaches, the display kinda made the case that research plus engineering can change communities and industries in a direct way.

Honestly it seemed like there is a shift happening, like moving from studying systems to constructing practical solutions for society, with that “we can do this” energy. It also underlined that African universities can steer innovation, support sustainability, and push industrial change forward.
And as the innovations keep pulling attention, the next big milestone stays commercialization and scaling these concepts into stable enterprises, so the impact can last across Africa. 🌍✨
