The nature of human beings is to hide the reality from everyone but yourself. You will be going through near death experiences in your life in your family, and instead of CRYING out for HELP, you chose to keep it to yourself. Most times its for FEAR of being Judged or shamed. Sometimes its out of SUBSCRIBING to conventional beliefs which EQUATE being STRONG to keeping quiet about your pain, sufferings, and traumatic experiences.
Personally I have had to overcome that nature of hiding and embracing crying for help as being human enough. My turning point came during early 2006 when I was preparing for my wedding. I was naturally reserved and always to keep my issues private no matter how overwhelming they were. One time I was in the office overcome with stress on the wedding preparations not going as per my expectations. This had affected my work a great deal. I was making a lot of clerical and mathematical errors which were construed to mean I was being careless and reckless. Lucky our tea girl overhead discussions of my bosses on how my work was becoming increasing error prone. What this meant is that I was either to get a warning letter or non contract renewal because of my work. I am glad that never happened. Our tea girl gathered the courage and informed me of that discussions my bosses had about my work, and that they were concerned. And she didn't mince her words. She told me that everyone in the office new I was going through a difficult moment, but my countenance and attitude blocked them from reaching out to help me.
And she told me that I had to chose between keeping quiet about my problems and risk loosing my JOB or crying out for help from my colleagues who were human enough to notice that I was not ok, and they were over zealous to help.

From my practice on Emotional Wealth and Health Coaching, I have realized that Emotional and Mental health is a function of delicate balancing between being STRONG and being HUMAN.
Being strong is USING the Emotional, Mental and Spiritual Capacity you already have to deal, handle and manage difficult situations, painful experiences, and those dark moments we all at one point go through, without being thrown off balance Emotionally and Mentally.
Being HUMAN is admitting that there comes a time when your Emotional, Mental and Spiritual Capacity is either depleted or too little to handle the circumstances, pain and experiences at that particular time.
In such times you can choose to keep quiet about your troubles and die, but as soon as you die all your family, friends, and colleagues will blame you for not involving them.
You leave them beating themselves forever even after you are gone.
The second option is go public with the issue and seek help from professionals, family, friends and colleagues.
In my practice I help people heal from trust issues, so they can get courage to cry for help when need arises.
