After two years of commitment and extensive engagement in the English Micro-Scholarship Program, we are delighted to celebrate this incredible journey of massive transformation that our learners have undergone during this captivating journey. This program has empowered them to become 21st century learners who have the ability to communicate, collaborate, think critically, and solve problems in their daily lives. Hence they have shown personal growth not only in English but other subjects as well. Our students have become global citizens, using technology, language, and cultural immersion as a pathway to achieving their goals. Overall, our learners have truly embodied the motto “Access is Success!” and we wish them all the best as they continue their academic journeys.

It was a great Thursday 18/07/24 in our school. Our AGM/ PRIZE AWARD was a great event. Thanks to all those who graced the occassion. Our BOM members, PA, members, Mr. Opemi, Mr. Alfayo Nelson our chief guest, parents, Chief Kajwang, our MOE Nyali, Assistant Chief Mlaleo, Teachers students, non teaching staff, our Headteacher Khadija primary school, and other friends of the school. Our first AGM was lit.

In efforts to empower our Students Council body, today we engaged them in a training and mentorship session at White peacock hotel Mombasa aimed at enhancing their leadership skills. We Are The Best!

Today, we organized a Mathematics competition with the goal of inspiring our students to enhance their skills in this specific subject. The participants who emerged victorious received a range of prizes and will also have the opportunity to represent our school in another Mathematics contest scheduled to take place at Matuga Girls High School in early June.

Today we carried out a tree planting exercise as per the Ministry’s guidelines.

Celebrating English Language Day with the inspiring voices of Mombasa’s Khadija Secondary School. The English Access Program and #Fulbright showcase the transformative power of learning and teaching English.

Today, during our Access lesson, we had a candid conversation about the single use of plastics where the Access learners were shocked by the effects of plastics as they discussed how it affects the water supply sources and the planet. We used a scaffolding approach through prompting questions aimed at evoking critical thinking whereby the learners through group discussions discovered the impact of plastic in the ecosystem. They vowed to campaign against single use of plastics. Furthermore, we are working to have them have reusable water bottles that will have a message intended to spread the word of doing away with Single Use Plastics. Thereafter, the learners took a 'learning walk' through the school compound identifying the plastics that have been reused either to beautify the compound or for other purposes.
