Classroom for My Life initiative is about raising funds to help construct ‘’Wesleyan Community Learning and Care Center”. The school targets to support and inspire active learning among the needy and vulnerable children. Wesleyan Community Learning and Care Center was started in 2014 by Resource Hub for Development- RHD, Kenya. The school is located in Uriri District- West Kanyamkago, Migori Coun
ty; to offer education, protection, care and support to the needy, orphans and destitute children in Migori County. Although most orphans are cared for by their guardians/ family members or communities in some way, many of these families are living in poverty. Some form of public assistance is also required to provide these children with adequate food, health care, clothing, education and psycho-social support. The school currently serves around 124 children under home stay. Through RHD support, the centre provides food, shelter and treatment. The school operates through 6 rented classrooms. It has 3 paid cooks, Watchman and 3 teachers for nursery classes and 5 teachers for lower Primary Classes. The greatest challenge we have is the lack of classrooms to help all our children access quality education with the number being projected to hit over 1,000 children targeting the school in the next education calendar. That’s why we have decided to appeal for support. Wesleyan Community Learning and Care Center needs your financial support for the construction and equipping (16- learning classrooms, 8-pit latrines, 4-dormitories, 1-Kitchen, 1- Computer Lab, 1-School meeting hall, 1-Laboratory and 1- Admin office. other required activities are Fencing, Electricity supply, borehole drilling and connection)..The school has raised funds and acquired a plot for the construction of the classrooms. The construction is therefore projected to cost Kshs 39.2 Million. The school therefore calls upon any well-wishers, donors, institutions, investors and agencies for financial support to help construct the much needed classrooms to enable these poor children access quality basic education in a good environment.
