On 7/2/2026, we had a great opportunity to learn Blind Chess. Blind chess is IBSA and Olympic sport. Training was courtesy of KESAVI team led by Amb Nguru Waitherero Ogw. We are now set for local and international competitions.

LIFE OF A TEACHER!
When this Transit vehicle started it's journey from the coast heading to the Western region, it attracted the attention of both children, the youth and the aged. People would line up along it's route waiting to capture photos of the massive trailer and it's luggage. The truck spiralled through the coastal plains, the Nyika plateau, Mount Kenya slopes, the Rift valley before joining the western part of Kenya.
In all it's stops, it would encounter excited faces, small and big cameras all waiting to see it.
But if you ask any of those people who went out to see the vehicle, they weren't amazed by the long truck. Their amazement was based on the luggage carried by the vehicle. Their excitement came from the slow speed at which the trailer was moving.
Their excitement came from the security and the es**rt accorded to this vehicle.
This vehicle will be back after delivering the cargo but I can assure you that very few people will recognize that vehicle on the road.
Very few will line up to take photos of the empty vehicle and even fewer will post pictures of the empty vehicle on their social media channels.
During the return journey, it's the driver and his co-driver who will be amazed by the speed at which they will be moving.
That simply illustrates the life of a teacher.
The learner is the luggage. The size of your luggage, the way you move with that learner, the security and preference that is accorded to the learner is the source of excitement for the masses. When the burden is on your back and you can't move quickly because of the weight, everybody lines up to see you carrying the burden.
When retirement comes and the burden reaches its destination and you have nothing on your return journey, no one even bothers to know the route you will take to go back home.
If you don't pick some mukhobero at Busia,
the return journey will be longer than the first journey!

Quote of the day
Friday 15/3/2024

"The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts; therefore guard accordingly." — Marcus Aurelius.

"It is more important to know where you are going than to get there quickly. Do not mistake activity for achievement." - Mabel Newcomber.

"The least movement is of importance to all nature. The entire ocean is affected by a pebble." - Blaise Pascal.

INSPIRING BIBLE VERSES DAILY

"My friends, what good is it for one of you to say that you have faith if your actions do not prove it? Can that faith save you? Suppose there are brothers or sisters who need clothes and don't have enough to eat. What good is there in your saying to them, "God bless you! Keep warm and eat well!"---if you don't give them the necessities of life? So it is with faith: if it is alone and includes no actions, then it is dead." - James 2:14-17.
