Tharaka traditional 'Kathongo' is cooked with pearl millet flour, peas, cowpeas vegetables and and added matanka (Canton melon). These ingredients are highly nutritious with pearl millet containing omega 3 fatty acids essential for better brain function and other nutrient dense benefits like heart health. Matanka (cooked melon) is good for immune function, bone health, antioxidant, eye health and regulate blood sugar among others. Simply, we have a food policy. "You are what you eat. Know where the food you eat comes from". And most of the food we eat are grown in our farm - free from chemicals.
