"Jesus is the sinless high priest who offered himself as the sacrifice for our sins" means that Jesus is the unique mediator between God and humanity, a mediator who was perfectly holy and without sin, and whose one perfect sacrifice on the cross completely paid the debt for all human sin, permanently resolving the separation caused by sin and making salvation and a relationship with God possible for those who believe in Him.
Jesus as the Sinless High Priest
Superior Priesthood: His priesthood is superior to the Levitical (Old Testament) priesthood because he is sinless.
Unique Qualification: Old Testament priests had to offer sacrifices for their own sins first, but Jesus, being without sin, was qualified to offer a perfect, once-for-all sacrifice for others.
Eternal High Priest: Unlike mortal human priests who pass their position to others, Jesus has a permanent, eternal priesthood because he lives forever.
Jesus' Sacrifice for Sins
Once-for-All Sacrifice: Jesus offered himself as a single, complete sacrifice for sins, which fulfills all previous sacrifices and ends the need for them.
Payment for Sin: His death on the cross fully paid the price for humanity's sins, removing guilt and the fear of punishment.
Reconciliation: Through this sacrifice, the separation between God and people caused by sin is permanently healed.
The Meaning for Believers
Eternal Salvation: His sacrifice offers salvation that is complete and eternal for those who trust in him.
Access to God: As our high priest, Jesus intercedes for believers, making a way for them to have a relationship with God.
Holy and Blameless Status: His sacrifice purifies believers, making them holy, blameless, and acceptable to God."
