Orientation program for New Students.
Today, Kenya Forestry College officially welcomed our new students during an orientation programme designed to introduce them to the college community and prepare them for a successful academic journey.

The session was chaired by the Deputy Principal, who emphasized the importance of discipline, integrity, and adherence to the College's rules and regulations as the foundation for academic and personal success.

The Principal warmly welcomed the new students and congratulated them on joining the institution. He encouraged them to embrace the values of Kenya Forestry College, remain focused on their studies and make the most of the opportunities available throughout their training. He also took the students through the College's policies, outlined his expectations and explained the institutional structure to help them understand how the College operates.
The orientation also provided an opportunity for members of staff to introduce themselves, fostering a welcoming environment and strengthening the connection between students and the College community from the very beginning.

Today marks the beginning of an exciting academic journey as Kenya Forestry College proudly welcomes a new cohort of trainees. The admission process is well underway, with students arriving from different parts of the country, eager to pursue careers in forestry, environmental conservation, and natural resource management.

Our staff are on hand to ensure a smooth admission process while guiding the new trainees through registration and orientation. We are delighted to receive the newest members of the Kenya Forestry College family and look forward to supporting them as they acquire the knowledge, practical skills and values needed to contribute to sustainable forestry and environmental conservation.

Green Zones Development Support Project Phase II Project Steering Committee Conducts Site Inspection.

The Green Zones Development Support Project (GZDSP) Phase II Project Steering Committee conducted a site inspection visit to key project sites in Kericho County, including the Londiani Model Tree Nursery and the Londiani Timber Value Addition Centre.
During the inspection of the Londiani Model Tree Nursery, the committee noted that the project was substantially complete. The facility is equipped to enhance the production of high-quality tree seedlings and contribute towards the national target of planting 15 billion trees by 2032. The nursery will also serve as a centre for practical training in tree nursery establishment and management. The Model Tree Nursery is among the major tree nursery projects being implemented by the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) to support sustainable forest development.
The committee also inspected the Londiani Timber Value Addition Centre, which is progressing well and nearing completion. The centre is designed to promote timber value addition, improve skills development, and support innovation in the forestry sector. Upon completion, the facility will support the production of charcoal briquettes to promote environmental sustainability, as well as the treatment of electric poles, fencing poles, and other value-added timber products.
The centre will further enhance practical training for students at the Kenya Forestry College (KFC), particularly those undertaking Wood Utilization and other related forestry programmes.
The inspection was attended by KFS Deputy Director incharge of Administration and Infrastructure development Mr Isaac Wekesa, Kenya Forestry College Principal Francis Musyimi, CFC Kericho County Ecosystem Conservator James Kwambai, GZDSP Phase II Project Engineer Desmond Odoyo, and other officials
