This is Mercy Chepkirui Chebusit from Mosonik Village, Olulunga Ward.

Mercy is a Mau forest evictee in 2018. She moved to Olulunga where a distant relative allowed her to build one roomed house to raise her family. So she has no land in her name at Ololunga. Her family is hosted there. Mercy has 7 children.
Faith Chepkoech and Brenda Cherotich are both Form 3 students at Enakishomi Secondary School.
Emmanuel Kipkirui is a Grade 7 learner at Olkaria Comprehensive School. Brian Kipkorir is in Grade 6. He is followed by Sillas Kimutai who is in Grade 5. Collins Kipkorir is in Grade 2 and the last born Cynthia Chepkorir is in PP2.
She was going to get vegetables to sell at the market day at Olmekenyu. Olmekenyu is on the Melelu Ward side. So she would risk, cross the river, buy cabbages, then bring them to the Ololunga side and sell them.

The person who fell in the water with Mercy is Nicholas Kibet. He was routinely there to help villagers cross the bridge when the waters swelled up. Kibet miraculously survived the fall.
