Stara Rescue School & Centre The origin of Stara Peace Women Organization (SPWO) dates back to 1994. It started as a self-help women group of 30 members.

The group funded its activities through a merry go round scheme of Kshs 100 per person giving to one member and by the end of 1999, the group had lost some of its members and there children remained behind as orphans. We approached the group to see whether we can take care of the children but most of them withdrew seeing it would be a big burden to them, hence we were left three women and we took the initiative.

This week, Stara Rescue Center organized a fun day for the pre school learners which was attended by parents. It provided a good way to teach the learners how to play and compete fairly, it also presented an opportunity for the parents to catch up with teachers about their children's progress at school.
