Scored Below a D+ in KCSE? Your Journey Doesn't End There – here is a pathway to becoming a professor.

Every year, thousands of students in Kenya score below a D+ in KCSE and many think that's the end of the road. But what if we told you that you can still rise from the lowest level in our education system and earn a PhD?

That’s exactly what happened with Professor Rose Mwonya, the first female Vice Chancellor of Egerton University. Her story is proof that it’s not about where you start — it’s about refusing to quit.

Here is your TVET Pathway to PhD,

1. Artisan/Craft Course (6–12 months)
2. Diploma ( 2 - 3 years)
4. Bachelor’s Degree (3–4 years)
5. Master’s Degree (2 years)
6. PhD (3–5 years)

That journey may take 12–15 years — but so does any great dream. Someone who scored a B and went straight to university may only be a few years ahead, but in the end, you both reach the same destination.

*Did you fail in your KCSE?*

Listen to me. Success is not final and failure is not fatal.
According to the KCSE results released for 2024 Class, students who scored less than C+, which is the university's threshold grade form a bigger percentage.
I want to talk to you.

Don't be discouraged. You can still make it to the highest level in academia.
If you scored grade E, D- (Minus),D (Plain), yet you really wanted to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (a profession that requires grade A), I'm here to encourage you that you will achieve it. You can too be a professor if you have patience, hard work and resilience.

You can join Our *COLLEGE* any CAMPUS within your County, where you will be placed in a level that matches with your grade. Let's assume you've been placed in Level 3, 4 and 5 (previously called Vocational,At:30,Certificate in the KNEC/CBET curriculum). After two years, you'll proceed to level 6(previously called Diploma in the KNEC/CBET curriculum). From here, you will be allowed to join any university for a Bachelor's Degree. The years that you will take studying your bachelor's degree will be determined by the grade scored in Diploma/Level 6.

Once you're done with a degree, you will proceed to the Masters Program for two years and finalize with a PhD. After completion of Postdoctoral Research and meeting the required criteria, you will earn a title professor after some years.

With the emergence of our COLLEGE, everything is now possible. With hard work, patience and resilience, you can be anything that you want.
