Brother Colm O'Connell is an Irish Patrician Brother, missionary, and legendary athletics coach widely celebrated as the "Godfather of Kenyan running". Arriving in Iten, Kenya in 1976 to teach geography at St. Patrick's High School, he had no prior coaching experience. Yet, he intuitively built a holistic training philosophy focused on nurturing the person before the athlete. Over five decades in the Rift Valley, O’Connell turned the small town of Iten into a global running mecca. He has guided 25 world champions and 4 Olympic gold medalists, including superstars like world-record holder David Rudisha, leaving an indelible mark on international distance running.

We extend our warmest congratulations to our alumnus Edmund Serem, on his spectacular victory and gold medal win in the Men's 3000m Steeplechase at the Commonwealth Games, Glasgow 2026.

We are immensely proud that Edmund led a historic Kenyan podium sweep alongside Simon Koech and Leonard Bett. This outstanding achievement is a testament to hard work, discipline, and the spirit of excellence that the school instills in her alumnus.

It has been a great journey for our volleyball team this year.
We sincerely thank the boys for playing with all their heart throughout the championship, from the zonal level. Your commitment was evident.

Although our desire was to represent our region at the national level, it was not meant to be. But all is not lost. You have held the name of our school high, and as a department, we are very proud of you.
