RICH IN GOD, POOR IN LIFE — POOR IN GOD, RICH IN LIFE
Text: Luke 16:19–31
INTRODUCTION
Jesus tells a story that shocks religious thinking.
A poor man goes to heaven.
A rich man goes to torment.
But the lesson is deeper than money.
This is not a sermon against wealth.
It is a sermon against one-sided knowledge.
Lazarus had God but lacked skill.
The rich man had skill but lacked God.
Both were incomplete.
I. SPIRITUAL RICHES DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY PRODUCE FINANCIAL SKILL
Lazarus was poor on earth, yet rich toward God.
He knew how to suffer patiently, trust God, and endure hardship.
But notice this truth:
Lazarus’ spirituality did not change his economic condition.
Prayer alone does not teach business strategy.
Fasting alone does not teach investment.
Tithing alone does not teach financial management.
Spiritual maturity and financial intelligence are not the same thing.
The Church must stop pretending that ignorance disappears because someone is prayerful.
II. FINANCIAL SUCCESS DOES NOT EQUAL SPIRITUAL APPROVAL
The rich man knew how to make money.
He understood systems, wealth creation, and sustainability.
Yet he did not know God.
His wealth did not save him.
His success did not impress heaven.
This proves a sobering truth:
You can master money and still miss eternity.
Money answers earthly problems.
Only God answers eternal ones.
III. MONEY HAS A LANGUAGE THE BIBLE DOES NOT TEACH DIRECTLY
The Bible teaches:
Righteousness
Stewardship
Generosity
Contentment
But it does not teach:
Market structures
Business models
Accounting systems
Economic strategy
Those things must be learned, not prayed into existence.
Sometimes believers must learn from:
Books
Education
Experience
Even unbelievers who understand business
Learning skill is not backsliding.
It is wisdom.
IV. THE TRAGEDY WAS MISSED EXCHANGE
Lazarus and the rich man lived close to each other, but never exchanged wisdom.
If Lazarus had learned financial intelligence, he might have lived better on earth.

Understanding Satan as a system Part 3

Satan is a function or a system that operates as an apposition, adversary and an accuser that was ignited from human disobedience sustained by sin consciousness and deception.
While demons are the manifestation of this system. They are spiritual manifestations produced by Satanic system. Satan (as a system) wants you dead, hence sickness and all attributes that cause death are expressed by demons. Those strong holds that makes you believe you are useless it's a work of demons to support the system.

So, as stipulated in part 2, we are going to see areas where the conviction that Satan was an angel that fell from heaven came from and we are going to scrutinize them using context.

Isa 14:12 "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!"
The moment this verse is read, the whole conclusion is to place Satan as an angelic being that fell from Heaven.
The bible was written intelligently and also simple so that we are able to understand.
See this previous verse to enlighten us,
Isa 14:4 "That thou shalt take up this proverb against the *king of Babylon,* and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!"

So the decree was to the King of Babylon. A human being not an angelic being. He was a man that the people looked up to. As he grew more rich and influential, he began to feel like he was God.
So the king of Babylon was called LUCIFER because he was the light bearer.
Falling from Heaven, meaning falling from an influential position as a king. Heaven means an exalted place. He used to weaken nations meaning that He conquered many nations to the level where he wanted all to worship him.
This was a man and yet the system of opposing God was found in him, Satan. He wanted to be like God. For clarity
“Lucifer” comes from the Latin lucifer, meaning “light-bearer” or “morning star.”

What are demons?
We know that demons are unclean spirits that Influence men.
Yes there are many schools of thought,
Some say, angels slept with men and gave birth to Giants, and when these giants died, their soul had no where to go because they were a forbidden combination, hence are called demons.
Some say demons are the angels that fell from heaven with Satan.

But truly, where did demons come from?
Demons originated from Human spiritual death (Romans 5:12) when man sinned, spiritual death entered. So that death brought Fear, condemnation, guilt, shame, darkness corruption. These manifestations are what they are known as demons. We can personify them and call them the spirit of fear etc, these attack your reasoning mainly to attack what God has said. They are oppositions.
We are going to understand this very well later.

Spiritual death created a vacuum that ignited demons that operate outside God's life.

1Co 10:20 But I [say], that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils."

Demons are linked to idolatry and force worship, these empowers the manifestation of deception, corruption and darkness. Demons gain expression through false belief system, and idolatry gives them expression and identity. So the whole system of this operation is called Satan, while the expressions of this system are Demons.
These demons are empowered by human ignorance of God.

So, if demons are such expressions, then how did they recognize Jesus and talked to Jesus?
Remember, Demons are expression of a system that opposes God, they represent darkness and ignorance,
Jesus in the other hand is the truth, and he is light, so the moment Jesus appeared demons felt tormented why? Because when light appears, darkness must run, when truth appears falsehood must bow.

Understanding Satan as a System

It has been believed that whenever a subject of Satan arises, the conclusion is that Satan is a being with horns and wings and a scary face.
It is also believed that Satan was an angel who fell, and as he fell he deceived Adam and many other angels.
So if Satan fell and convinced a third of the angels, so the question that remains unanswered is that what did Satan use to convince the angels and what was that rebellion?
Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned"

By one man, sin entered. So if Satan rebelled before man was created it means it is not through one man that sin entered, but rather through angels. So this means before the creation of man, no angel sinned. If Angels sinned, it means angels brought sin which is not in line with scriptures. See this now

Rev 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
Rev 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born."

When you see this, Dragon, the woman and a child. This is symbolic,
The woman is Israel, the child, Jesus and the dragon is the influence behind people of great influence.
Remember leaders wanted to kill children during the time of Jesus birth with the aim of killing Jesus, that's the dragon trying to devour the child. Mary had to run away.

Stars of heaven, these are people of high rank, or I can say kings, the phrase "Of Heaven" does not literally mean heaven but it means a place of luxury, these are kings.
so a system worked in people with high authority in order to hinder and oppose the redemptive plan of God.

Don't forget that Man is the originator of sin and not angels.

THE PASTORS... MEN OF GOD

The lawyer is working,

The lecturer is working,

The journalist is working,

But the pastor is playing?
Clap for yourself.

You think everyone else in every other profession is really busy, but when it's a pastor, you say 'go and look for a job'.
Weldone!

We applaud professions that don't offer real value to people but think less of those who do.

Footballers earn far more than doctors,
Comedians earn far more than teachers,
Most Pastors earn very little or nothing.
And you think that's fine?

How has Messi helped your life or given you a new hope for living?

How has comedians saved your marriage or helped deliver you from addiction?

But pastors are involved daily, bearing the brunts of helping people live a better life and yet when we see them own few things we behave as though they don't deserve anything.

In case you don't know, being a pastor is one of the most demanding and sacrificial work I know on earth.

I've been in ministry for more than 10years now, I have been to police stations because of church members. I have visited several hospitals and spent nights there awake because of church members. I have travelled long distances, given up my belongings, attended to marriages at the verge of divorce, and conducted funerals all because of church members, been to mortuary over church family members, got accident on my way to pray for church family members and fixed it with my own money etc.

A church member had an accident and the woman and her baby died on the spot. When I got there, the whole family was crying to me, asking me in tears 'pastor why?'

Who else is supposed to answer such a question? Its always the pastor. Yet in the midst of that, we bring courage and restore hope.

But when it comes to a pastor having money, people will frown and wag their tongue against it. And yet the economy is not different for pastors I tell you.

Everyone else cries but when a pastor does, he has no faith.
