Earlier today, Bomet University hosted Farah Ibrahim, Assistant Director investigation and Ag Regional coordinator, IPOA South Rift, on a courtesy visit.
The visit provided an opportunity for an insightful and constructive engagement on the importance of accountability, transparency, and good governance in strengthening public institutions and promoting service to the community.
The University appreciates the engagement and looks forward to continued collaboration in advancing these shared values.

On Thursday, 20th August 2026, Bomet University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Charles Mutai, received a delegation from the University of Nairobi Enterprises and Services Limited (UNES), led by Stanley Ngache, Mary Odongo and Dr. Eliud Liku, during a courtesy call at the University.
The engagement formed part of ongoing consultations towards the development of a comprehensive Physical Development Master Plan for Bomet University. The plan is expected to provide a strategic framework to guide the University’s physical growth and development in line with its institutional aspirations.

Day 2 of admissions at Bomet University, with students reporting to join the School of Business and Economics and the School of Arts & Social Sciences.
As the new students settle into their academic journey, orientation is set to begin tomorrow, 20th August 2026, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their academic journey.

Today marks a historic milestone for Bomet University as the institution welcomed its first-year students for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The admission exercise was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Mutai and the Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Patrick Ojera, who joined staff and students as the university welcomed its inaugural cohort, following the award of its charter in February this year.
Students joining the School of Education and the School of Pure and Applied Sciences were admitted today, officially setting in motion a new chapter in the institution’s journey as a fully chartered university.
Tomorrow, 19th August 2026, the admission exercise continues with students joining the School of Arts and Social Sciences and the School of Business and Economics.

Bomet University today held a solemn Requiem Service in honour and remembrance of the late Mr. Charles Langat, a dedicated driver and member of the University community.
Members of the University fraternity, family and colleagues converged to celebrate his life, and offer comfort and support to his loved ones at this difficult time.
Mr. Langat will be fondly remembered for his dedication, commitment and service to Bomet University. His contribution and the memories he leaves behind will remain cherished by the University community.
Bomet University extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all those who knew and loved him.
May the soul of Mr. Charles Langat rest in eternal peace.

Today, Bomet University hosted students from Ndarawetta Mixed Day Secondary School, Bomet Central, for a guided educational tour aimed at exposing learners to the diverse academic programmes available at the University, while inspiring them to pursue higher education.
During the visit, the students explored the four Schools, the university library, labs, and had an opportunity to interact with staff, lecturers and student leaders. They gained valuable insights into university life, academic pathways and the opportunities that await them beyond secondary school.
The tour was facilitated by the Bomet University Corporate Communications Department in collaboration with the Career Advisory Department.

Today, Bomet University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Charles Mutai and Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Patrick Ojera, hosted a team from Equity Bank led by Haron Koech, (Regional Office Kericho), Richard Koech, Team Leader (Bomet Branch), and Elvis Bett, on a courtesy visit.
The engagement explored potential areas of collaboration in education, environmental conservation, medical insurance, and pension schemes.

On Tuesday, 11th August 2026, Bomet University hosted a delegation from Mama Ngina University College for a benchmarking exercise aimed at facilitating the sharing of experiences, practices and lessons on the preparation of a University Charter. The engagement provided an opportunity for both institutions to exchange insights as Mama Ngina University college navigates the charter preparation process.

STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF MR. CHARLES LANGAT.
It is with deep sorrow that Bomet University announces the untimely death of Mr. Charles Langat, a driver at the University, following a tragic road accident yesterday evening, 10th August 2026, at Katakala, Narok County.
Mr. Langat was driving a university vehicle transporting staff members to Nairobi on official duty when the accident occurred. He sadly succumbed to the injuries he sustained.
The four other staff members travelling in the vehicle survived with minor injuries. They have since been treated and are now recovering at home.
The University community is deeply saddened by this loss. Mr. Langat's dedicated service will be remembered with gratitude by all who knew him. Our thoughts are with his family, relatives, friends, and colleagues as they grieve this tragic loss, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to them during this difficult time.
May Mr. Charles Langat's soul rest in eternal peace.

On Thursday, 6th August 2026, the Bomet University fraternity, represented by members of staff and students, joined the family, relatives, and friends of the late Scovia Chelangat at Ng'ororga-Getarwet in Kericho County, to pay final respects.
Scovia was a first-year student at Bomet University who sadly passed away following a short illness.
Bomet University extends its heartfelt condolences to Scovia's family, loved ones, fellow comrades, and friends during this difficult time. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
May her soul rest in eternal peace!
