Bomet University in a collaborative initiative with Old Mutual, WWF-Kenya and the Kenya Forest Service, today joined hands with the County Government of Bomet in a commendable environmental conservation initiative.
The delegation paid a courtesy call to the County Government where they were received by the Deputy Governor Hon. Shadrack Rotich before proceeding to Chepalungu forest for a tree-planting exercise.
A total of 22,000 tree seedlings were planted as part of ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

Today, a team from Old Mutual, World Wide Fund-K and the County Government of Bomet, Department of Tourism paid a courtesy visit to Bomet University and were hosted by the Ag.Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Finance)Prof. Patrick Ojera. The discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration in environmental conservation, research and financial schemes aimed at fostering sustainable development and institutional partnerships.

Bomet University successfully conducted a 2-day training on the ISO 21001:2025 Educational Organization Management System (EOMS) Awareness Course Programme, facilitated by the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) Under the Directorate of Quality Assurance, Performance Contracting and ISO.
The training focused on creating awareness of the ISO 21001 standard, which is geared towards improving the management and operational effectiveness of learning institutions through internationally recognized best practices.
The programme underscores Bomet University’s commitment to quality assurance, operational excellence and continuous capacity building in higher education.

Today, Bomet University hosted the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Bomet, Madam Maurine Oracha, accompanied by the Deputy OCS, Mr. Joseph Juma, during a courtesy and familiarization visit to the institution. The officers were warmly received by Dr. Fred Wafula, Registrar Academics and Student Affairs, alongside the Chief Security Officer, Mr. Mathew Ngeno and other officers.

A delegation from Bomet University led by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Charles Mutai, visited the National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) in Nakuru, Lanet, for a consultative meeting geared towards a strategic partnership between the two institutions.
The Bomet University delegation was warmly received by the NDU-K Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. David K. Tarus. The discussions focused on fostering collaboration in academic excellence, research, innovation and institutional capacity building.
The engagement marks an important step towards establishing a mutual partnership that will enhance knowledge exchange between the two institutions.

Bomet University took part in the 3rd Cohort Postgraduate Supervisors Training organized by the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) at Peniel Beach Hotel, in Entebbe Uganda.
The regional training brought together scholars, researchers and academic leaders from across East Africa to strengthen postgraduate supervision practices and promote excellence in higher education and research.
The program also provided participants with a valuable opportunity to enhance supervisory skills, exchange experiences and share best practices aimed at improving the quality of postgraduate training within the universities in the region.
The participation by Bomet University reflects a continued commitment to advancing quality research, academic mentorship and regional cooperation in higher education.
