NEW SOLO ALBUM WRITING COMPLETE!: Last night I finished the sixth and final song demo for what will eventually become my fourth solo album. This is mostly why I’ve been relatively quiet on social media for a while. My process is painstakingly slow, it takes me forever and (pardon the melodrama) it really does take everything out of me. But the feeling of having a secret little album-to-be is pretty amazing (fellow artists, you know what I mean!). And now I know pretty much know what I’ve got, and most importantly, what I’ll eventually be able to share with YOU after…quite a bit more work. I think this is going to end up being an early 2027 release. But we’ll see how it goes once actual tracking begins.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who, over the years, sent me messages of deep gratitude for “Scenes From The Flood”, and for anything else I’ve written for The Aristocrats or otherwise that’s landed in a meaningful place for them. It’s a strange, lonely place, writing in isolation for months, making the thousands of tiny choices that one day somehow add up to a complete finished album. And I have to write it “for me”, in that same way that every artist does. It can’t come from anywhere else. But the possibility of this work eventually landing in the head and heart space of a listener out there, whose own story I have no way of knowing, makes it all worth it. Sounds like a line, but I really mean it.
So, stay tuned for details, as the saying goes.
Meanwhile, it’s just about time for The Aristocrats European tour, which starts in exactly one month!
