Snowy days in Tsukuba are rare. When snow finally falls, the whole campus turns quiet and white, like a different world. The trees and buildings are covered softly, and everything feels calm.

Students step outside with bright smiles, building snowmen, taking photos, and enjoying the moment together.

Admin had the opportunity to participate in an event titled
“Education × Multiculturalism × English – Let’s Discuss Education with Southeast Asian University Students.”

The theme of this session was Educational Issues. We had meaningful discussions with students from the Philippines and Indonesia, as well as many international students from the University of Tsukuba.

We talked about several important topics, including
• stress experienced by teachers and students in Japan
• rapid curriculum changes in Indonesia
• literacy challenges among younger generations in the Philippines, where illiteracy remains a serious concern

We also discussed how AI technologies might help address some of these problems, while being mindful of the new challenges and risks that AI may bring.

One important takeaway that I would like to share with our followers is information on AI regulations. I believe students at the University of Tsukuba should be aware of this, as it was something I personally learned for the first time during this session.

🔗 Please feel free to check the link below to learn more about AI regulations.

The other day, Thai international students had the opportunity to join a brief discussion with Ichiro-san, the founder of the Future of Humanity Institute (P-ALS) and Yohei Yamada, together with several ALS patients and their families.

We learned much more about ALS through this conversation. It was truly inspirational. While we understand that no single group can represent all ALS patients, we deeply appreciate the opportunity to listen, learn, and better understand their experiences.

I would like to use this space to help raise awareness, not only for people living with ALS, but for all people with disabilities. Their voices matter, and we should always remember the importance of listening to patients and their families with respect and empathy.

Please feel free to learn more through the link below. Ichiro-san is a truly inspiring individual, and Mr. Yamada left a strong impression on us with his positive mindset and lively spirit.

We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to speak with all the patients and their families that day.

P-ALS is dedicated to information and community activities for people with ALS and their families. P-ALS also provides resources to ALS support groups, companies and research centres through a fund managed by the Future of Humanity Institute.

Happy Songkran Day!
(April 13–15) 🇹🇭🪷

Did you know Songkran began as a traditional Thai New Year celebration?

It started in temples, where people poured water over Buddha statues and on the hands of elders to show respect and seek blessings. It’s all about cleansing, renewal, and starting fresh.

Over time, this sacred ritual turned into the world’s most joyful water fight! Now, streets are full of laughter, water splashes, and togetherness.
A beautiful blend of tradition and fun!

Wishing everyone a safe, refreshing, and happy Songkran!

สุขสันต์วันสงกรานต์!
Let’s welcome the Thai New Year with love and lots of water!
