Program in Human Biology" of the University of Tsukuba was accepted to the "Leading Graduate School Doctoral Program" of the Ministry of Education‚ Culture‚ Sports‚ Science and Technology (MEXT). http://www.jsps.go.jp/english/e-hakasekatei/selection_results_h23.html

The University of Tsukuba has initiated an expansion of such multidisciplinary degree program in other fields of interest by establi

shing a central headquarter "School of Integrative and Global Majors"‚ headed by Vice President (the person who is in charge of education). (Outline of the accepted program)

Title of the program : Ph.D. Program in Human Biology
Program coordinator : Akira Shibuya
Purpose :
The students in the Human Biology program will be trained in multidisciplinary courses that cover medical‚ biological‚ computational and physical sciences‚ to further understanding how human being can adapt‚ inherit and sustain their life. Students participated in this program shall gain research and scientific knowledge that is expected to become world-class leaders‚ who could direct our society for the benefit of the human being. Characteristics :
*Allows scientist to pursue research overseas that could represent the innovative technology.
*Development of leadership skills to direct and organize the project between cutting-edge researchers‚ industry leaders‚ as well as entrepreneurs.
*Overseas universities and industries are enforcing strategic course work to train talented and professional personnel. We also aim to train these talented professors and scientists who is capable of breakthrough leadership to reach an international agreements to solve the global problems. The "Leading Graduate School Doctoral Program" was established to prepare students with broad interest and creative ideas for them to become active leaders who could extend industry-university relationship in our global society. The university will gather outstanding faculty members and students both domestic and overseas‚ promote the multidisciplinary doctoral education program that is consistent with the international standards‚ and support this higher learning institute through reform of traditional education system‚ that is beneficial for the university‚ industry and the government.

【NEWS】先端研究基盤刷新事業(EPOCH)に本学のプロジェクトが採択

 2026年7月31日、筑波大学を提案大学、茨城大学、お茶の水女子大学、高エネルギー加速器研究機構を連携機関とする「専門人材と広域研究基盤連携を核とした『新しい発見を生む研究基盤』形成プロジェクト」が、科学技術振興機構(JST)の「先端研究基盤刷新事業(EPOCH)」に採択されました。
 本プロジェクトでは、筑波大学オープンファシリティー推進機構を中核に、研究基盤を「装置を使う仕組み」から「発見を生み出す仕組み」へと転換します。
 具体的には、リサーチエンジニアや技術職員等の高度専門人材の育成、測定から解析までを支援するフルサービス化、設備・人材・データの広域的な連携、AIを活用した知識基盤の構築、企業との共同開発や社会実装などを進めます。
 研究者が研究に専念できる時間を増やし、新しい研究成果や社会実装が継続的に生まれる「発見創出型研究基盤エコシステム」の形成を目指すとともに、筑波研究教育機構(仮称)の形成・発展にも寄与していきます。
