Sri Lanka Students Association in Japan successfully organized the 12th Annual Research Conference titled
“Sustainability Beyond Boundaries: Collaborative Research for a Shared Future” on 31 January 2026 via Zoom under the guidance of Conference Chair, Prof. N.S.Cooray.
The conference brought together around 40 scholars, professors, and researchers from Sri Lanka, Japan, Pakistan, and India, fostering meaningful global academic exchange.
We were honored by messages from H.E. the Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka, Prof. Pivithuru Janak Kumarasinghe and Ambassador (Ret.) Ravinatha Ariyasinghe, Executive Director of the Regional Centre for Strategic Studies (RCSS), our collaborative partner.
The keynote address by Prof. Kelum Jayasinghe (University of Sheffield, UK) highlighted green transition, ecosystem management, environmental governance, and global cooperation for sustainability.
The conference featured an engaging panel discussion moderated by Professor N.S. Cooray with distinguished academics and diplomats, followed by research presentations across four thematic tracks. Out of 30 submissions, 21 papers were selected through a rigorous peer-review process, with Best Paper Awards presented in each session.
The conference reaffirmed the importance of collaborative, interdisciplinary research for building a sustainable and shared global future.
