5/3に開催したウィップクラッキングレッスンの様子です。
発表会を終えたあとの最初のレッスンは、どこか余韻の残る、穏やかな空気の中でスタートしました。
この日も、それぞれのスタイルが光ります。
新たに手にしたパフォーマンスハイブリッドウィップや、カンガルーレザー製の美しいストックウィップなど、道具そのものへの探究も深まってきました。
最近では、レッスンを重ねていく中で
海外メーカーからMy鞭を迎えたり、自作に挑戦するために学び始める方も増えています。
とても自然で、良い流れだと感じています。
またこの日は、ターゲット練習も実施しました。
ただ振るのではなく、「狙って当てる」。
そのためには
身体と鞭を分離させるのではなく、ひとつのシステムとして連動させ、軌道を精密にコントロールする必要があります。
細かな身体操作と意識の使い方を、一つひとつ丁寧に解説しました。
ターゲットはゲーム性も高く、楽しみながら集中できるトレーニングです。
今後はターゲット特化のレッスン日も企画していく予定です。

Depth, elegance, and the quiet joy of mastering control.

This is a glimpse into The Wave Shapers whip cracking lesson held on May 3rd.
Following our recent The showcase vol.2, the session began in a calm, almost meditative atmosphere—still carrying the quiet afterglow of performance.
Each practitioner brought a distinct presence.
A newly acquired performance hybrid whip.
A beautifully crafted kangaroo leather stock whip.
As skill deepens, so does the relationship with the tool.
More students are now choosing to source their own whips from overseas makers, or even stepping into the study of whip making themselves.
This shift feels natural—an evolution from learning technique to cultivating ownership.
In this session, we focused on target work.
Not just cracking—
but striking with intention.
Precision does not come from force.
It comes from integration.
To place the tip exactly where you intend, the body and the whip must no longer act separately.
They must function as a single, continuous system—where movement, timing, and awareness are fully aligned.
We broke this down in detail, exploring how to control trajectory with subtlety rather than effort.
Target work carries an element of play, yet demands deep concentration.
Many find themselves absorbed in it.
We are currently planning dedicated sessions focused entirely on target practice.

こんにちは。鞭の振り方教室ウェイブシェイパーズです。
いよいよ5月ですね。新緑がまぶしく、身体を動かすのにも心地よい季節になってきました。
先日4/26に開催した【The 発表会 vol.2】では、多種多様な鞭パフォーマンスが披露され、大いに盛り上がる素晴らしい一日となりました。ご参加くださった皆さま、本当にありがとうございました。こちらの様子は、また改めて別途ブログにてご報告いたします。
5月の風は軽やかで、少し踏み出すだけでもいつもより遠くへ進めそうな気持ちにさせてくれます。新しいことを始めるにも、技術を深めるにも、とても良い季節です。鞭の音を響かせながら、自分の身体と感覚に丁寧に向き合う時間を過ごしてみませんか。
ウェイブシェイパーズでは、基礎から応用まで、それぞれのレベルや目的に合わせて学べるレッスンを行っています。安全性を大切にしながら、しなやかな身体操作、美しいフォーム、そして気持ちの良いクラッキングを身につけていきましょう。

ひとつ大切なお知らせがございます。
ウェイブシェイパーズでは、運営開始からこれまで13年間にわたりレッスン料金を据え置いてまいりましたが、昨今の施設利用料をはじめとした諸費用の価格高騰に伴い、2026年5月よりレッスン料金を改定させていただくこととなりました。
2026年5月より
1レッスン 4,000円
（現行 3,800円）
となります。
長く続けてきた価格を変更することは心苦しくもありますが、これからも安全性を大切にしながら、より丁寧に、そして鞭の楽しさや奥深さをしっかりとお伝えしていくための改定となります。
鞭を通してみんなをハッピーにすること。
鞭の楽しさを体感し、知ってもらうこと。

発表会が近づき、動きに熱が宿る時間となりました。
2026/04/09のウィップクラッキング/スポーツウィップレッスン
パフォーマンス練習、フォームの見直し、
新しいボディムーブメントへの挑戦。
それぞれの課題に向き合いながら、
個々の進化がはっきりと見えた時間でした。
鞭の性能と身体の連動を感じ取り、
大きくたおやかに鞭を動かす感覚に開眼した動きも印象的でした。
力ではなく流れで伸びる鞭。
その変化はとても美しく、これからがさらに楽しみです。

The Wave Shapers Whip Cracking Lesson
Performance practice, refining cracking form,
and challenges incorporating new body movements.
It was a focused session where each person worked deeply on their own goals, and individual progress became clearly visible.
One particularly impressive moment was seeing someone discover the connection between the whip’s performance and their body, allowing the whip to move in a large, graceful flow.
Not force, but flow.
The whip extended naturally — a beautiful change to witness, and exciting to see where it leads next.
The Wave Shapers develops whip skills together with body movement and control.

2026年4月5日の
ウェイブシェイパーズのウィップクラッキング/スポーツウィップレッスン
この日は新しく手に入れた鞭を持参された方が複数。
みんなで振り心地を試しながら、それぞれの違いを体感しました。
さらにダミアンナオミ制作のストックウィップもテストクラック。
好評だったため、更に改良してレッスン用として使えるように仕上げていく予定です。
速さではなく、丁寧に。
鞭の重さと軌道を感じながら、ゆっくり振る。
腕と鞭が一体になる瞬間、
音が自然に生まれます。

Several participants brought newly acquired whips,
and we explored the different feel of each one together.
We also test-cracked a stock whip created by Naomi Damian.
The feedback was very positive, so we’ll continue refining it
and prepare it for use in future lessons.
Not faster — but more carefully.
Feeling the weight and the path of the whip, moving slowly.
When the arm and whip become one,
the sound emerges naturally.

雨上がりの空気の中で行った3/26のウィップクラッキング/スポーツウィップレッスン。
鞭の種類による操作性の違いを感じ取りながら、それぞれが道具との対話を深めていました。
出来なかったクラッキングフォームが形になった瞬間の達成感は、何ものにも代えがたいものです。
4/26「The 発表会 vol.2」に向けた練習も少しずつ進行中。
それぞれの軌道と音が育ってきています。

モラルを共有しながら、安心して練習できる場をこれからも大切にしていきます。

When a whip moves through the air, it draws a line you can almost see.
After the rain, under air that hints at spring, the March 26 whip cracking lesson unfolded.
Many participants explored how different types of whips affect handling, deepening their dialogue with the tool through each crack.
The moment a previously impossible cracking form finally comes together brings a sense of accomplishment that is truly irreplaceable.
Practice for “The Presentation vol.2” on April 26 is also gradually taking shape.
Each trajectory and sound is beginning to grow into its own expression.
Because the whip is something anyone can experience,
we place great importance on maintaining a space where people can learn safely and practice with care.
It’s wonderful to see more participants sharing good ethics and enjoying their training together.

3/22のThe Wave Shapers ウィップクラッキング / スポーツウィップレッスン。
春らしい暖かさを感じる日差しの中での開催となりました。
最近は海外鞭メーカーのウィップを使い、遠心力に合わせて自然に脱力しながらクラッキングする方が増えています。
My鞭を求めて海外メーカーへオーダーする人も増えてきました。
さらに今回は、自作のストックウィップを持参して練習する方々も。
丁寧に作られた素晴らしい出来栄えでした。
レッスンを通して鞭を自在に扱う楽しさに触れ、
さらに鞭の魅力を深めていく人が増えているのが嬉しいです。

The March 22 session of The Wave Shapers whip cracking / sport whip lesson took place under sunlight that was beginning to feel like spring.
Recently, more participants have been using whips from overseas makers, relaxing naturally while cracking in sync with centrifugal force.
More people are also ordering their own custom “My whip” from international makers.
This time, some participants brought handmade stock whips for practice.
They were beautifully crafted and truly impressive pieces.
Through the lessons, more people are discovering the joy of handling a whip freely,
and deepening their appreciation for its movement and sound.

The Wave Shapers のレッスンでは、必ず 両手で鞭を振る ことを大切にしています。

Whip Cracking Lesson
by The Wave Shapers
In The Wave Shapers lessons, we always practice cracking the whip with both hands.
By feeling the difference between the right and left arms, students begin to notice subtle imbalances in their movement.
Little by little, those differences become smaller.
Through this process, the physics of the whip becomes something you can feel through your body, not just understand with your mind.
Behind every clean crack is careful movement, refined step by step.

鞭の振り方教室ウェイブシェイパーズのウィップクラッキング / スポーツウィップレッスン
春めいた暖かさの中でのレッスンとなりました。
ウィップクラッキングは、どうしてもあの炸裂音を出したくて力みがちになります。
けれど、本当のスタートはその逆。
まずはリラックスして、鞭を大きく稼動させること。
足裏を使ってしっかりと地面に立ち、
肩や腰の位置を安定させる。
そこから、腕と鞭をゆっくり連動させていきます。
初めての方には、まず「立つ姿勢」からレクチャー。
土台が整ったとき、余計な力が抜け、
自然に鞭がcrackする瞬間が訪れます。
そのときの表情は、何度見てもこちらまで嬉しくなるものです。
春の日差しの中でのウィップクラッキング / スポーツウィップ。
みんなの姿が、とてもかっこよく映りました。
音ではなく、構造。
力ではなく、身体操作。
静かな積み重ねが、確かな一音を生みます。

The Wave Shapers Whip Cracking Lesson
Our March lesson took place in the gentle warmth of early spring.
In whip cracking, it’s easy to tense up because we want to produce that explosive sound.
But the real starting point is the opposite.
First, relax — and allow the whip to travel in a large, open motion.
We begin by standing firmly through the soles of the feet,
grounded into the earth.
The shoulders and hips are kept stable and aligned.
From there, the arm and the whip slowly begin to move in coordination.
For beginners, we always start with posture.
When the foundation is set, unnecessary tension fades,
and the whip begins to crack naturally.
The expression on someone’s face when the whip cracks effortlessly for the first time —
that moment never fails to make us smile.
Under the spring sunlight,
everyone looked powerful and beautifully composed while cracking.
Not sound, but structure.
Not force, but body mechanics.
Quiet accumulation creates a true crack.

The Wave Shapers Whip Cracking Lesson – February 27
Adding what you can do, one by one, with care.
This is a crucial point.
Some people believe that as long as the whip makes a sound, that is enough.
But that is not correct. There is a physically and mechanically sound cracking form, and a precise path the whip must travel.
In our lessons, we begin by understanding the mechanics of the body and the trajectory of the whip.
At first, we move slowly.
When you learn the correct cracking form,
what you could only do with one hand gradually becomes possible with both hands.
From there, rhythm begins to emerge.
Do not rush. Move slowly.
The precision you build will transform your sound and your movement.

2月3日、節分の日のレッスン。
豆を撒く代わりに、鞭の音を空へと響かせました。
鞭を振った瞬間に生まれる鋭い炸裂音。
その仕組みを物理的に理解していくことで、鞭はぐっと自由に、そして思い通りに扱えるようになります。焦らず、理解できるところまでゆっくり積み重ねていくことがいちばんの近道です。
ウェイブシェイパーズの鞭レッスンでは、腕の旋回軌道、肩や腰の位置、身体全体の使い方まで細やかに確認しながらクラッキングとフォームを整えていきます。自主練習では気づきにくかったポイントがほどけていき、鞭と身体が一つにつながる感覚を味わえる時間です。
音と動きが重なり合う瞬間を楽しみながら、のびやかに鞭を振りましょう。
