試合に勝って誇らしげな顔、負けて泣く顔、負けて悔しそうな顔、緊張しながらも挑戦を待つ顔、顔、顔、顔。みんな良い顔です。個性が出ています。増田は、空手試合を通じて、「顔」を作っていきたいです。「顔」には人間性が現れます。そして「変化」していきます。
しかしながら、「顔」は心で見なければ、本当の「顔」は見えない。試合によって、本当の「顔」が見えてくる。それが競技の意義の一つだと思います（増田）。
Proud faces after winning a match, crying faces after losing, faces that look frustrated after losing, faces that are nervous but waiting for the next challenge... faces, faces, faces. They are all good faces. Their personalities are coming out. Masuda wants to create a "face" through karate matches. A person's "face" reflects their humanity. And it "changes." However, unless you look at a "face" with your heart, you cannot see the true "face." Through matches, the true "face" becomes visible. I think that is one of the meanings of competition (Masuda).
