far / near

△ My house is far from here.
O My house is a long way from here.

X My house is near from the station.
O My house is near the station.

far は、ほとんど疑問文と否定文で使う副詞です。

How far is it to your house? (あなたの家までどれくらいある? ) My house is not far from the station. (私の家は駅から遠くない)

肯定文だと far ではなく、 a long way from の方が自然な言い方になります。

My house is a long way from the station. (私の家は駅からかなり遠い 所にある)

near も要注意です。 日本語では｢~から近い」と言いますが､ near と組む 前置詞は from ではなく、 to になります。 しかし、 前置詞を置かないのが普 通です。

X My house is near from the station.
△ My house is near to the station.
O My house is near the station.
