Code's source code was leaked via a source map file left in their package. Someone published it here: https://lnkd.in/dwgDP4AU

To be clear, this isn't a hack or a security breach. It's a build pipeline oversight. Source maps were bundled into a production npm release, making the original TypeScript readable to anyone who looked.

The exposed code reveals interesting details, internal architecture, and even unreleased features. No user data is at risk, but it's a meaningful IP exposure.

Building fast becomes easy. Building fast without breaking things becomes increasingly complex.

First Love, by Banana Yoshimoto

Love and memory intertwine after loss.

Two young people, each carrying personal grief, meet and slowly form a bond rooted in vulnerability. Their connection grows quietly, shaped by shared memories and emotional restraint rather than grand gestures.

The Jigokudani Monkey Park

by Japanify

Why do wild monkeys bathe in hot springs? In Jigokudani, nature, survival, and quiet magic meet.

High in the mountains of Nagano, Japanese macaques learned an unusual trick to survive brutal winters: soaking in natural hot springs. What began as a simple response to freezing temperatures slowly became a daily ritual. Today, these "snow monkeys" calmly bathe in steaming pools while snow falls around them, completely unfazed by human visitors. But Jigokudani is more than a cute spectacle.

The valley's name means "Hell's Valley," inspired by the steaming vents and rugged cliffs surrounding the springs. Over time, the monkeys' behavior turned the place into a symbol of adaptation, patience, and harmony with nature—showing how intelligence, not force, helps life endure even the harshest environments.

The Story of Kimono, by Japanify

How a simple garment shaped Japanese culture, identity, and values across centuries.

The Kimono began as a practical, everyday clothing designed to waste nothing and adapt to Japan's climate and lifestyle. Made from straight pieces of fabric, it reflected values of simplicity, repair, and harmony with nature. Over time, colors, patterns, and layers turned the kimono into a silent language that communicated age, status, season, and personal philosophy.

As Japan modernized, Western clothing challenged the kimono's role in daily life. Instead of disappearing, the kimono evolved into a symbol of tradition, craftsmanship, and intentional living. Passed through generations and reinterpreted by modern designers, it remains a living expression of patience, sustainability, and cultural continuity.

The Story of Hello Kitty, by Japanify

A simple character becomes a worldwide symbol of comfort, kindness, and emotional connection.

Born in 1970s Japan, Hello Kitty began as a small design on everyday items, created to bring warmth and friendliness into a fast-changing world. With her simple features, lack of a mouth, and gentle personality, she offered people something rare: emotional openness without demands. Instead of telling stories or expressing fixed emotions, Hello Kitty allowed individuals to project their own feelings onto her, creating a deeply personal bond.

As she spread across cultures and generations, Hello Kitty quietly broke the rules of branding and character design. She appealed to children and adults alike, crossed borders without losing meaning, and remained relevant without reinventing herself. Her story reveals how simplicity, consistency, and emotional intelligence can create lasting impact far beyond trends or technology.

The Story of Never Surrender, by Japanify

A Japanese soldier follows his final WWII order long after the war ends.

Sent to a remote Philippine island during World War II, a young Japanese intelligence officer receives a clear and absolute command: never surrender. When Japan is defeated soon after, he retreats into the jungle, convinced the war continues and that enemy messages announcing peace are nothing more than deception. Survival becomes routine, and loyalty becomes his compass.

As years turn into decades, the world outside changes beyond recognition while he remains frozen in wartime logic. Cut off from modern life, he clings to discipline, duty, and identity as a soldier. His story explores how conviction, when left unquestioned, can sustain a person… and imprison them at the same time.
