All BST parents are automatically members of the PTA. But did you know just how much of school life is powered by parent volunteers? 👀
From coffee mornings and uniform sales to Messy Kitchen, seasonal celebrations, charity drives and the Spring Fair, so much happens because parents give a little time and help out when they can.
You don’t need to join a committee or make a huge commitment. Even an hour helps.

Welcome Back, BST Parents ☕️
It was so nice to see new and returning families together at our Welcome Back Coffee Morning at Tokyo American Club, meeting each other, reconnecting, and finding out more about what’s happening in the PTA this year.
There were class-year introductions, updates on upcoming events and volunteering, and most importantly, plenty of time just to chat.
Thank you to everyone who came along, helped out, asked questions, and made the morning feel so friendly and relaxed.
Our Coffee Mornings will continue at both Azabudai and Showa campuses throughout the year, so if you’re new to BST, come along next time. It’s an easy way to meet people and feel a bit more connected to school life. ❤️

Messy Kitchen is all about bringing our community together through food, and we’re looking for parents to host upcoming sessions!
Host at home or another suitable venue, share a favourite recipe or food tradition, and enjoy cooking together with other BST parents. You definitely don’t need to be a professional chef — just happy to share something you love to cook. ❤️

Not sure what to do with the kids on Sunday? 👀
For Post 5 of our BST PTA Guide: Things We Wish We’d Known, we’ve put together some less obvious Tokyo ideas for different ages, from little adventures for younger children to hands-on experiences and places older kids might actually want to explore.
We’ve grouped them by age 3–6, 7–10 and 11–15, with a few tips for turning an activity into a great day out.
Some might be new even if you’ve been in Tokyo for a while.
