This is a small group of 9-12th gr. boys, from U.S. and Japan, working language is English. The prompt for this discussion was "Human activities are leading to the loss of biodiversity in the world’s ecosystem.". The boys came up with these questions in about five minutes, and then we took time to sort out the questions, and to dig a little deeper. I think this list is interesting because it captures the many facets of thinking that takes place when students are questioning.
