Crossing time zones is weird. We left our hotel this morning at 5:30am, July 3rd. We took a 1.5 hour fight to Tokyo, a 9 hour flight to LA and a 4 hour flight to Chicago. It’s now 3pm in the afternoon of July 3rd and we are on the bus headed home. What a fantastic trip.

Final day in Japan. Bullet train to Osaka to see Osaka castle, a Taiko drum lesson, more food and ending with some karaoke. We depart early in the morning for home via Tokyo, LA and Chicago. It’s been a great experience, but I’m pretty sure the kids and adults are ready to get home.

Today we took a ferry to explore Miyajima Park, then headed to the Mazda museum and finished the day with some free time in Hiroshima shopping and eating.

Absolutely amazing day in Hiroshima! Started with the Peace Memorial which was an educational and memorable experience. Our group was even able to donate origami paper cranes that we made on the bullet train. Then we had an incredible lunch of okonomiyaki cooked right in front of us. Then we cooled off and some really geeked out at the Pokemon center. Then we continued our day at a beautiful Japanese garden with plenty of photo ops and even some feeding of giant Koi. We ended the day with a dinner of shabu shabu which had everyone cooking their food at the tables. It was a jam packed, incredible day.

We left Tokyo this morning and made a quick stop on Yokohama where we had a sky high view of the Japanese landscape from yokohama Landmark Tower before touring an early 20th century Japanese cruise liner before hopping on the bullet train and enjoying our bento dinner on the way to Hiroshima.

Final day in Tokyo. We went from history of Edu, to modern consumerism to a traditional Japanese meal.

Shrines, shopping, more shrines, food, fun and games. Everyone is sure to sleep well tonight.
