Step back to the 1980s when streetwear emerges as a rebuttal against fashion trends at the time, it is a statement to show that fashion can be expressed through a simple yet casual way of clothing. Streetwear is more than a fashion trend; it is a subculture in this day and age that promotes a free and creative lifestyle. It was the American occupation in Japan that paved way for the stree
twear to culture spread; where the western and eastern cultures clash, creating what is known today as the Japanese streetwear culture. The emergence of it during that time is a form of expression against the capitalist way of living. Unlike the American streetwear culture, which is dominated by wealthy individuals who wear them, most young people in Japan embrace Japanese streetwear fashion. Our Mission
DuoSIX Japan 日潮代購 was founded in 2021 on the basis of Japanese streetwear being hardly attainable in Malaysia. Hence, our team has made it our mission to introduce Japanese streetwear by bringing local Japanese brands that focus on streetwear apparel to the Malaysian audience.
