🚲 Did you know?
-------------------------------------------
Since 2015, Okayama University's Tsushima Campus has been part of Okayama City's Momochari bicycle-sharing network, providing a convenient and environmentally friendly way to travel around the city.
Momochari is Okayama City's public bike-sharing service, allowing users to rent a bicycle from one port and return it to another across the city. The service offers an affordable and flexible transportation option for commuting, running errands, sightseeing, and getting around campus.
At Okayama University's Tsushima Campus, Momochari ports are located at:
📍 Okayama University 50th Anniversary Memorial Hall
📍 Okayama University West Gate
📍 In front of Okayama University Library
📍 Okayama University East Gate
The addition of these ports in 2015 marked the first expansion of Momochari into the JR Okayama Station West Exit area, improving access between the station, university and local community.

☔ Rainy Days in Japan
-------------------------------
Japan's rainy season is here, and recent typhoon weather has brought more rain to many areas.
The gray skies can be a bit heavy, but there's also something nice about the sound of rain, a warm coffee and walking under the rain.
🔎 Believe it or not, rain can be good for your mood. The fresh air and relaxing sound of rainfall can help people feel calmer and less stressed.
🔎 Research suggests that when raindrops hit the ground, they create negative ions in the air. These particles have been linked to reduced stress, improved mood, and higher energy levels. The fresh smell after rain - known as petrichor - is also believed to have a calming effect.
To everyone: stay safe and take care. 🌧️💙

🌱 Future farming in Japan!
----------------------------------
A startup from Okayama University, MOSAdemy, recently carried out a demonstration in a lemon orchard in Yorishima, Okayama, showcasing four-leg robots designed to support harvesting work on steep and uneven farmland. 🍋
🚜 Equipped with robotic arms and cameras, the robot dogs were able to identify, pick, and transport lemons into collection baskets using pre-programmed automation controlled via smartphone.
🌾 The project aims to address major agricultural challenges such as labor shortages and an aging farming population by bringing smart robotics into real farming environments. Farmers and local students were amazed by the robots’ mobility, harvesting ability, and future potential.
✨ With the vision of fully autonomous nighttime harvesting, this is another big step toward smarter, more sustainable agriculture powered by robotics.

☀️ Let’s learn together how to prevent and respond to heat illness!
Last year, some areas in Japan reached temperatures as high as 40°C. In April, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) introduced a new word - 酷暑日 (kokushobi) - to describe extremely hot 40°C days. The word combines 酷 (harsh), 暑 (hot), and 日 (day). This may mean that Japan could continue to experience record-breaking heat in 2026. 🥵
Let’s learn how to stay safe and protect ourselves from extreme summer heat in Japan through the information in the images below. ⬇️
